Reality and Dreams: Three Dreams in One Blog
Hehehe, This is not really one that I have dreamt about but that of my Ate. That was last Sunday, October the 21st. She just woke up when the rest of us Habitan siblings are eating champorado for breakfast. Mom's away in Korea and my dad is the one looking after us.
Looking disoriented as she goes downstairs to have a piece of that camporado, she quickly remembered what she wanna say to us and here it goes:
She had a dream last night that she and Kuya Evan was riding in a van. Ate's at the back while Kuya was at the passenger seat at front. There was a mamang driver fetching them to wherever they were headed to. All of a sudden, police vehicles were at guarding at that section of the road that the van was heading to and there was this very unfamiliar vehicle with an oh-so familiar face driving it, Billy Crawford, as in the very Billy Joe Crawford. Well, what do you expect? Simon Cowell?
Back to the story, the police were blocking that side of the road and the two older siblings were caught in the crossfire. The police moved back but Billy Crawford came nearing to the van where Ate and Kuya were. Even if there were back-up guarding the van's behind, they can't get close to Billy as he is too near the ate and the kuya.
He brought out a gun and aimed it towards the front view window. Ate was so scared she told Kuya and the driver to hide. But it was too late, Billy came in front and shoot the brains out of Kuya and the dirver, dead! Now, the already terrified Ate has more reason to be terrified-Billy aimed the gun at her and as he pulled the trigger of the gun, she screamed and woke back to reality.
Wow, ha...she nearly got starstrucked literally. Hehehe. We couldn't stop but laugh as how she told us her dream. There was not an explanantion why Billy went mad but it's all over...for now...
Dream #2-I Dream of The Breed a.k.a. How The Breed Came To Be
Now this time, this now my dream. It was a Tuesday early moring (Otc. 23), and I had this very strange dream about deadly flesh-eating mad dogs.
My dream was set in an island of nowhere and the inhabitants were deadly flesh-eating mad dogs. I didn't see myself in my dream but I did witness on how the Breed came to be.
It turnes out, they cute, fuzzy, man-friendly and harmless dogs trapped in the woods. They were of different varitey but they all moved as a herd. The reason they became the breed was that, they somehow crossed upon a large container filled with spaghetti sauce. The smell of the sauce was very inviting that it all attracted the herd and they all went for the kill-they ate the sauce.
It turns out that the sauce has long been expired. I was not sure how was it expired, when has it been expired and how in nowhere did a container filed with rotten spaghetti sauce would end up in the iddle of the woods in the iddle of an unknown island in the iddle of the ocean?
Suddenly, the dogs began to change in reactioon to the sauce. Finding out that it tasted awfully bad, they transformed into the vicious flesh-eating mad dogs we see on The Breed.
Now, quite a strike of coincidence, I began to feel a sense of dejavu when I was flipping the channels on our TV around midnight several days later (October 28 I presume). Then I came across Star Movies and was surprised that their feature movie at the time was, nothing else but The Breed. weird isn't it? Being a very thrilling movie, it didn't really have a good ending, but in a way it is....for the dogs.
Dream #3-I Suddenly I Thought Of You Today and Everything that You Are
Now, this is now dream really but a dejavu moment on one of my past dreams suddenly remembered. IIt was only last Sunday, the 28th, that I wa using the PC. I was working on a special project. Currently, I was using the Paint Program to draw potraits of people. I was only in the middle of making my first one when suddenly a strange feeling of familiarism suddenly came over me. It is as if, I was doing a computer-generated potrait before. Then came a thought of one of my past dreams (you could say it is a vision but surely it's not the kind of vision that Phoebe experience nor Cordelia's on TV), a dream about me doing the same exact activity that I was currently doing.
So far, I'm already done with my portraits but they are yet to be published anytime soon .
-----------
It is really mind-boggling that you get to reexperience your dreams through visions and that dejavu sense. Not only is it quite disturbing but the kind of dreams that I am having is sort of telling me about future events that will come sooner or later than I would think. This phenomenon has been going to me since I was 6 years old and I do hope there would be an explanation to it, better less than what my dreams can tell when.
Walkout
| Rating: | ★★★★★ |
| Category: | Movies |
| Genre: | Drama |
The movie started when many of the Chicanos, who are longtime residents of Eastern Los Angeles since the 18th century, demanded equal treatment on the educational field. The problem lies that the schools in East LA are unable to get access to goverment services even if they are under one unified city school district.
Many view this as a form of racial discrimination for the schools on wealthy and white-populated West LA were the ones with such access. It took one Half-Filipina Chicana Paula Crisostomo (played by Alex Vega), to stage a walkout which became the start of the East LA Walkouts. Not only was at Lincoln High School, where Paula attends, staged such action but so did the other schools in the east.
What I really like about this mvie that even if you didn't watched the movie from the start, you get to know the main plot immediately soon after you get to see kids walking out of their schools and shouting "CHICANO!" and "VIVA LA RAZA!".
Unlike other 1960s-based movies, you don't get the feeling that its too retro, but at the same time you do. Why? Maybe because, beyond all that retro hair, clothing, music and everything, we get to see the experience ourselves as if it's happening right at present. I did, I thought it was set sometime in the present, it was only later when I saw Paula's friends with long late 60s hair and everything.
Other than the emorional sympathy that you may feel as you watch many students running for their lives before being caught up by the police and get beaten by batons, you can see how Paula aspires to become successful in her life, reaching what her father could not do when he was her daughter's age.
Later ko na lang nalaman na half-Pinay si Paula sa ina niya. Nalaman ko na Nanay niya ang Pilipino kasi halata naman tatay niya lang ang nagsaSpanish. Other than that, her mom is realy the encouraging and driving force for her daughter to accomplish such feat.
What I really don't like was how obvious racism and treason exist in the government and in the movement respectively. Turned out that Paula's love interest was in cahoots with the higher authorities and had many of the Chicano youth movement's leaders arrested. Good thing that Paula didn't gave in, especially that her papi finally gave her very supporting words. She, with hundred or maybe even thousand of people protesting in front of the LAPD precinct, pointed out to the traitor that no one can stop them for realizing the goal, and they will never bow down even if it'll took a lot of batons to down them all.
Too bad, I didn't finish the movie but like I said before, if you don't watched the movie at the start, you'll known what was going on. The same even if you don't watched it till the end, you'll know by now what will be the outcome of it.
The movie was well-directed, balancing the different subplots (family, boyfriend, in-group conflict) with the main movie plot. Great acting to the actors and successfully convincing to anyone who watched this movie!

Buhay Kolehiyo: A Post from Soompi.com
from the College thread section, I saw this one posted by a forumer, Enjoy!
"i stopped reading midway. but from the sound of it, you guys are taking each other way too seriously. it's ok to be nice at first to get to know people. but what i found out was being an bubble gum was ok too.
my roomate was so relaxed that he was just chilling in his boxers when i got in the room. then i asked him to help me set up the wireless network, which he called "pinkpanties". at this point, i was beyond weirded out. i hope he wasn't a crazy pervert or anything like that. so fast forward it to 3 weeks.
i was trying to be as nice as i could so we could get along and there would be no fights. but he kept saying random things to try to piss me off. so i would just sit there and smile/laugh, until one day i was like ok let me try talking back instead. after that we both knew how to joke around with each other. it was like natural for us to say, f-you, and all those obscene words.
we found out how similar we were in personality by realizing we don't care what other people think about us. that we are confident enough to hold our own and even if we didnt have friends in the building, it wouldn't matter to us. and even though i have a group to chill with, i still would rather keep my roomate just so we can keep eachother on our toes. it's fun to get in someones face as long as you both know how to joke around with it.
stop taking life so seriously, before you know it, we're gone. do something crazy. do something that no one would expect. be spontaneous. people will think you're crazy, but if you know how to amuse yourself, you will amuse others.
hope everything goes well with you're group!"
