Photoshop Set: These Ones' For the Last Stretch

I made banners for my ongoing and yet-to-finished blog serials. I'm so itching on finishing two of them while I'm dying to post more entries under the existing ones.

Here they are:

Intensyon

When She Left Me
-The mistake of the past. A shot for happiness. A husband who thought it was all over until the day when his wife left him and their two kids. From there, secrets and revelations will lead him to one question: Was it all for nothing?

JIA
Yah, self-centered hehehe.

Reality and Dreams
Enter a world of magic and fantasy. Where the borders of the unreal starts to loosen. A world where evrything's possible unless proven to be a hallucination created by the mind. Enter to a world of reality and dreams.

The CSB Experience
Year 2 is now going under wraps so as might be doing a lot of them filed under Year 2. Season 3 will premiere May 2009.

The Summer Experience copy
From the creator of The CSB Experience comes the all-new season of hot-sizzling entries filed under one summer experience...just before school starts this coming May.

Jeco's Place
This is the name of three separate entries of the J-Blog Files under J-Blog, J-Pics, and coming soon...J-Vids. The video version will see the light of day sometime in late April/early May.

The CSB Experience 2: Eight Weeks

NSTPCWSLupig SilaWantedTedwan

Week 1: The Orientation

Sometimes, one should take the risk of having to go to some unfamiliar place in order to reach one’s final destination. Nevertheless, me and my groupmates are willing to take such a risk so that we’d be able to attend a seminar conducted by the ERDA Foundation.

The foundation is found in a residential area in Sta. Mesa Heights, Quezon City besides Siena College QC. We were able to get there before the prescribed time of 2pm. Since we were hungry, we had lunch at a nearby Chinese restaurant along Banawe.

Ms Jen was nowhere to be found but she sent a proxy prof to guide us. During the course of the meeting, I got to know a lot about the ERDA Foundation, its humble beginnings and the many scholars it had helped and continue to help throughout the years. So there are a lot of things that sure to be ahead us in the coming weeks.

Week 2: The First Day

Miscommunication was the theme for the second week. We weren’t able to have a clear contact with our social worker from ERDA and Charlon was way late. He’s supposed to be in charge for the transportation but it was already way past noon when he finally arrived.

We dropped off somewhere near Anda Circle and took a tricycle ride en route to Baseco Compound. We then stopped at the Baseco Compound-Food Terminal where we waited for Ms May R Lim, the social worker sent by ERDA to oversee their operations in the area, who’s supposed to bring us the place where we’re to teach kids there.

We were finally approached by one of the community leaders of Baseco and directed us to the place where we are going to teach. We had about 25 students to teach. The classroom is small but it’s well maintained. But there was no power running so we have to be patient with our situation.

After the session was over, we went straight home.

Week 3: Empowered

We were still teaching the afternoon, which wasn’t supposed to be considering that our NSTPCWS is set in the morning. Ms May R Lim assured us that we’d be able to teach kids in the morning for the remaining weeks. There was still no power running the classroom, because it was revealed that the kagawad was not present in his office. He was supposed to be in charge for the power but looks like he had other matters to attend to.

Week 4: Thy Morning Come

Finally, we were able to teach in our supposed time although once again we were late. Around this time, we were doing our evaluation towards Ms Jen. Afterwards, we waited for Charlon to arrive in school. But because we weren’t able to make a thorough contact with the guy, we decided to go ahead. Turns out that Charlon was already in SDA while we were buying lunch in Main, talk about weird!

We found him and Ms Jen at the site. Charlon explained to us that he got lost but eventually he found his way to the site.

Week 5: Rough

There were some neighborhood kids flocking the outdoors of the classroom. At first we ignored their constant distraction brought to the class but what was worrisome was that they were starting to enter the room and creating tensions with the class. Much to the worries of the community leader guarding the place, she looked for one of the students’ parents/relatives while we try to stall the situation by prolonging the session past the prescribed time of our stay for the day. Until “Big Mama” finally arrived did those juvenile punks finally left.

Week 6:  Almost There

Following the incident, about a quarter of the class didn’t attend class the next week. But nevertheless, we started the days teaching on our usual areas: Math, Heograpiya, Kasaysayan, Science and random subjects like English, and Art.

There wasn’t much going on since the incident so we tried to forget about it.

Week 7: Not Yet the End

It’s not yet the end. Simon thought that we’re in week 8 but turns out we’re only one week short of a last day. But despite that, we continue to teach our final lessons with the kids. Tiresome yes but the response from the class was ever so great. It touched me.

Week 8: The End is Near

To mark our group’s final day, we had a party to celebrate our last moments with our class. We had games, activities, and lotsa lotsa food. One of the students gave me a letter saying that they were glad that they had us as their teachers, even for a short while. Surely, I’m gonna miss them all.

I’m gonna miss them all, that’s for sure.

The CSB Experience 2: The Last Leg

Finals Week is just around the corner. Still, I have a lot of things to take care of, a lot of things to review for, and a lot of things to fight for.

But despite the weight, I still put on an optimistic face hoping that I could get myself through this.

So far, I'm done with Fotogra, submitting my portfolio awaiting judgement, and Techdrw (Isometric and 1-point Dimension drawing back-to-back). What's left?

1. Sondesn: Radio Ad (Needs some twinks on the final product) and the Radio Commercial (My constant stuttering forced me to go for the "Announcer" role instead). Sony Vegas Pro and Sony Sound Forge, I'm counting on you!

2. Profes1: Presentation of our Business Plan and the battle for right and wrong

3. Deskpub: 2-part magazine-slash-portfolio with Ryan S, with the theme "motion". (Sir Magallanes left for Singapore so he had Mr. Bringas to lead the class for the final week)

4. Desncon: Advocacy Presentation (Need to finish off my plate and have it ready by then). My advocacy is the campaign against smoking (Yeah!).

5. NSTPCWS: Group Scrapbook, Weekly Mini-Journal by Thursday and Exam come Saturday in CSB Main (And I even thought I've already seen the last of Main, I was mistaken).

The 20th and the 21st is probably going to be the distribution of the course cards. I'm hoping for a decent 2.0-2.5 GPA. Not really keeping my hopes up for my inclusion to the dean's list but in case I get to be in it again, that'd really be something!

Jeco's Neighbourly Place Ten O Seven

A really late post...

I never been invited for an overnight stay with a friend's house for quite sometime now. My first occurred way back early Spring 2002 when I was invited to come overnight with a newly-befriended classmate who was new at the time. I remembered watching baseball, Spongebob Squarepants, and realizations that Milo in Japan is pronounced as "mee-ro" or "mee-lo".

Fast forward to seven years, I felt like history was repeating itself when me and some old high school friends were invited by Jeco to his newly-built house in Paco, Manila 1007.

New place, new neighbours, new zip code.

I. Compass

Lucky for me, the day of his house blessing coincided with the last day of my NSTPCWS immersion in Baseco Compound. After the immersion, I went straight there. It didn't take me long to find the place because he already gave me the address of the house, I just had to know where to find it.

And find it I did. I just relied on my good senses, I was able to locate the place.

Too bad, there was one missed detail...I was supposed to be there around 5pm, I got there as early as 2 in the afternoon. Hehehe!

II. N2N

I was given a tour of Jerico's new hang out, in addition to meeting his numerous guests. His room is spacious with its own bathroom, balcony, and lighting system (Yabang!). Not much furniture around but a PC was already installed in a new computer table/tocador.

Interesting part of the tour are the "tourists"...The many nieces and nephews, etc of my good friend. Comes to show that we're not getting any younger, even if we're only 18/19.

III. Tour de Manila Redux

Another bout of "tour de Manila" fever got me sightseeing with previously unexplored areas of Manila. I finally saw Paco Park, those 50's-60's style houses, art deco architecture, dilapidated old grandeurs, and colleges and universities like Colegio de Sta. Isabel, Adamson, TUP, and PNU.

After been a constant reader of Paolo Alcazaren's column in the Philippine Star for quite sometime now, I grew to love and pity the city that we call as Manila.

IV. D' Pick-Up Na U. Sakay N Me

Jeco and I went to Malabon to pick up what's left in the guestlist. Let's say there was some minor communication problems that had us guessing in our toes, and there's no more a need to have it elaborated hehehehe (as requested).

We got Mark, Chamy, Yoko, and MR. Raymond couldn't come but says he'll make up by going to "my" sleepover party. I wonder...(I'm all alone in the house next week while the family's away for vacation up north. Would that be a possibility?)

Janelle, Ria, and Dianne went to the prime destination earlier than the host and his band of pick-up boys and girls.

V. Videoke Night

Here come's the fun part...

The guest were served with JaPinoy cuisine, Redhorse Beer (one cup for me!), and plain water. Jeco seemed by that time already tense though. Plus, we got the home entertainment system to us HS buds.

We sang as many songs as we could, to emotionally-charged songs to songs with always-mentioned terms. One had a drink too many, and many opted to go home instead of staying here for the night. One already was given the greenlight while another seems forced to make a fateful decisions.

VI. The Edge of Night

Me, Yoko and and Janelle stayed at jeco's house for the night. What's left in the nighttime hours, we spend it on pure chatter, rumors, confessions, and deep dark secrets. I forgot who made the first say but I was forced to watch a movie called "Twilight". But after 20 minutes, we called it quits.

Around 2 am, we finally got ourselves to sleep.

VII. The Guiding Light

I felt a little unwell sometime after the party. At the glimpse of sunset, I was already awake but still a bit sleepy. No thanks to someone who's getting the bigger share of the blanket hehehe. I finally got the sleep I needed when I made myself company to a lofty sofa...at 7 in the morning.

VIII. As the World Turns

A Sunday, Jeco and his guests were treated with some breakfast. The guest were pretty much thankful for his parents for being very accomadating. We friends went to Mass at the Stella Maris Center in Paco and, brought by my mom's request, we went to MOA for some grub.

By the time, I got to where my family is having lunch, me and my friends finally parted ways.

I must say, this is one of the most memorable moments I'll always going to cherish. Sorry for being a wee bit self-centered, but I realized that I'm not always alone by myself when I have friends around to help me stand up :D.

The CSB Experience 2: The Penultimate

Wow, with only less than three weeks in the school year, one could only imagine of the things that could possibly happen in such unexpected ways.

I don't want to spill too much details (although those who've seen my status in Facebook a couple of days ago already knew about it), but to cut things short: I'm filing a grievance against a professor.

Like I said, it's really not big of a deal. It just so happens that since in less than two weeks I am to present something important to that professor, it took something very valuable from me because of one small act of disobedience. I admit my fault but what I really find unfair was the tenure of how long that professor is going keep that important item from me. It'llbe returned to me on the day I was to present to my prof the report he or she told me and a dozen other students to do for him.

Despite the offer of amends and apologies, the prof didn't seem to budge. It was unreasonable for him/her to do that to a student nonetheless. I won't be the only one who suffers because of my actions but to others as well thus I even offered my final grade in exchange for giving me at least the necessary things I could to at least finish what is to finish.

I've exhausted all means to resolve this issue quickly but sadly, it didn't came into fruition. Thus, I opted for something drastic: Airing my grievance before the dean.

I've yet to know when my case is going to get heard but expect a lot of arguments between me and that professor that even if it comes to this, I still respect the guy. It's its inane way to punish students that I will have to complain against him/her.

Wish me luck!
