It's been a really, really longtime since I last sat foot on the Angelo King International Center of CSB. So it felt like a heartfelt reunion when something happened that prompted me to go to this building in Arellano cor. Estrada.
I forgot to submit this certain requirement to my professor because I forgot to have it printed on time for our 2nd to the last meeting for the term. Fortunately, she still had one more class where I could still have it submitted. What's really cool is that her last class for that day is in Rm. i809 in AKIC so I was like "Cool, I get to go AKIC once more, woohoo!">
I expected that something new would surprise me the moment I enter AKIC. I know for one that they had the Weights Room at the 3rd Floor Carpark relocated to the athlete's hall in nearby Pasay (or so it says in the brochure) recently, and they had just relocated the AKIC LRC to a larger room at the 12th floor plus their newly renovated kitchen labs between the 5th and 8th floors. Along the way, I bumped unto an old friend of mine from one of my past classes, still donning his corporate blue polo complete with a tie and a coat.
The surprise came when I went inside the "ghostly" elevator and pressed the '8' button there. The moment it stopped itself on the 8th floor, I exited and much to my surprise, I saw a totally new 8th floor. The comlabs looked new with matching windows and stuff. They had the walls painted from white to orange and the floor is now made out of furnished wood. The downside of it all is that the floor is still under renovation so all the classes there were moved to another floor.
That was when I decided to go upstairs to the 9th floor. Once there. I inquired a fellow student about the recent room changes. She recommened that I should either look for my professors through the door windows of each of the more than ten rooms or go to the 10th floor to render the services of the D.O.
I did the former, and from i809, I found my prof somwhere in room i904 or something. Afterwards, I left AKIC and walk my way back to Main along the brightly lighted Estrada.
I really miss god 'ol AKIC, anda chance for having another class there was simply no longer reachable. However, all the memories I had while having my classes there would, and I quote, "forever be embedded in our hearts and minds".
Amen to that!
