Grabeh, alam niyo, you won't believe what made my day today. I just could not believe it that it actually happened...
Okay, here it is: You see I'm a regular user of Pinoyexchange.com and am currently active in threads that are of my interests, be it about a particular TV show, a radio station, or techie stuffs.
Recently, one the threads there where I am active was closed down due to profanity and trolling in relationship with the recent reformat of this certain radio station. Afterwards, several tribute threads were established in dedication to that station (and those rejoicing for the return of its former brand/format). However, the 'trolls' who were responsible for closing the main thread also moved to these threads to bash listeners as well as attack them on a personal level. I was one of those victimized.
Just this afternoon, I was reading this post of a poster who is connected to the radio station. I merely stated my opinion without any need to hurt someone. Suddenly, a poster quoted my statement and described me as a "sipsip listener" as well as a "moron" who completely don't have any idea about how radio works.
Although the latter is true since I am merely a listener (but not 'sipsip'), what really threw me off is that this poster further retaliated by doing something I wouldn't expect: He posted my private information, about my education background which I wrote on my Facebook Profile!
Heck, my profile in Facebook is only accesible to strictly my friends although my name can be searched in the facebook database but never will they get to see AND READ my profile unless they ARE my approved contacts.
I sent a complaint to the moderator/admin for immediate action, so far I was successful in having that post of his deleted but his ad hominem attacks on me continues. But I was not the only one being attacked, even users who are mere listeners of the station are also being targeted in such hate campaigns.
I really just don't get why they have to do this. Is radio politics really that bad (considering Pex is a very influential public domain that even known celebrities and industry players take part with the discussions)? For the mean-time I'll be lying low on that forum until all the heat has all but simmered down.
Here's this user's posts before and after in relation to his controversial post being deleted courtesy of Pinoy Exchange:
Before:
"you are the epitomy of the sip-sip listeners talked about earlier.
And with regards to the call letters. You are a total moron and have no concept of how radio works.
Campus already had a brand, but were unable to translate it to a new station. DUH"
After:
For someone who talks about their educational background and post it for all to see where it is public property, to remove it to back up a point. Very Sad,
It's ok, we are moving into a time where we will finally hear good radio, not some cheap am college band programming.
The Return of RT
for one thing, he posted my private information in a public domain, not me. Kaya nga private kasi mababasa lang siya sa isang domain which is private in the 1st place, LOLz!
