For me naman it doesn't look like a telecom ad from the start. If I would be thinking of it with regards to Samsung, LG or Sony, I might think of this as a move-away-from-your-old-crt-tv's ad (kung yung simula lang ang papanoorin ko).
Brilliant ad actually, though they stuck on to using the old CRT TV's which in a way still has some implications of something old and passe. Well what do you expect with the local TV stations? They don't even support wide screens. Kaya tingnan mo yung mga naka plasma/lcd, naka stretch yung images from the television.
hala...well anyway. Un ung kasi ang well...standard at conventional type na TV. Although, hopefully in the near future, i-phe-phase out rin naman ang mg SDTV sets once all the tv networks around the world will be switching from analog to digital. Sa pinas in the meantime, wala pang standard digital TV "platform" na napipiling pagbabasehan ng pagiging digital ng Philippine congress, either the EU standard or the Japan standard. Either way, it'd definitely help in improving TV transmission, reception and the like.
By the way, symbolism rin naman yon [lumang TV] na from the old ABC comes the new TV5 (clarify lang that it is blocktimed by a Malaysian-company affiliate, an investor to ABC Development Corp.), bago, malinaw, IBA! Plus, we really do need a strong alternative to the two networks,
Accdg. to former Studio 23 channel head, Leo Katigbak, all their program acquisitions na recently pang-HD ay talagang magaganda if the station itself is digital and it is being received clearly by a HD-supported TV set, but given the lack of such franchise (yet) to do so, we as viewers suffer from not fully enjoying those kinds of programs per say in whole. Cable channel assignment is also a factor.
Although I'm not into the know about broadcasting, if you put the pieces together, it's more than our use of "old" TV sets that needs drastic change. It's beyond that.
dag dag rin on their use of old Tv sets, it's no big deal kasi ispin mo, I usually see flat screen tv's thatre wide and in some instances large. Would you want the actors who were then doing the station ID to wear flat screen tv's that are way wider than the width of their heads. hehehehe. Wasak na ung ulo ng mamang naiidlip habang nakasakay ng bus.
in short, it's no biggie since those old sets are, what others may say, the classic type. Di mo na matatanggal yon. Eh pati nga logo ng TV5, ganon din ang hugis ng logo nito eh. :):))
well, not really. Malaki kasi ang lugi ng kompanya after its multimillion dollar Philippine Idol franchise from Fremantle was taken away only to be awarded to GMA-7. Sa sobrang lugi, nagcost cutting sila through lay-offs and cancelled a lot of programs like Dokyu, Frontlines, etc. Di natin masisi ang station kung ito'y naging diumanoy isang "ghost channel" na iyong ibig sabihin.

Haha i know. Naisip ko rin yan. Kung plasma-type yung head it wouldn't look good.
ReplyDeleteWell I just hope mas ok na sila ngayon, kasi dati ABC5 was just a ghost channel.
