The Most Embarassing Moments of My Life in Three Phases
- Grade 1 (November 1997)-During our night out camping inside school grounds, our team the Mighty Sharks, we're to have a dance number dancing the Backstreet Boys' "Everybody" song. I, beinga n innocent boy scout, was urged to join. I got so excited that i joined them while dancing, I even made a tumbling. The next day, I just realize that I was a laughing stock. People's minds never forgot that incident for the rest of the year and up til now, gusto ko pa rin ito makalimutan.
- Prep (1996)- two girls were fighting over me. I let them do their thing as I was used as a rope for their tag-of-war. Then suddenly, one of them pulled me so hard, i fell down and the next thing was that I was under one of the girl's skirt. talk about "AHHHHHGGH"
SJA
- Grade 6 (July 1, 2002)-I was spending my first recess in SJA at the canteen when the bell rang. At first, i didnt understand why but later did I found out na oras na pla para puamanik muli sa mga klasrum namin. eh di ko malaala kung nasan na mga kaseksyon kong nagla-line up. Naligaw tuloy ako. I took someone from my batch to tell me na nauna na silang umakyat.
- 1st Year (2003)-Power of two, ako ang kalahati sa singing pair ng seksyon namin. Song number namin ay My Destiny.
What's my loss was my gain ika nga
CSB
- Mediamax teambuilding (July 2007)-Baby I'm on Cofferush! I'm on high......high on coffee (high on coffee!!)

The CSB Experience:I Am Sixteen Turning on Seventeen (Thoughts Before Turning 17) a.k.a My First Benildean B-day!
I really could'nt imagine myself as a seventeener because I don't act like one (well, yeah, It's not yet my birthday but you know what i mean!) even as well acting like a sixteener. What i was ten years ago is what i may still am ten years later.
As I write this, I suddenly remembered my seventh birthday (weird). I could still remember it clearly as if it was yesterday. I was at school, having a class and my parents came with loads of food and goodies from Jollibee (I was in 1st Grade then). No mascot came however but th food is alright. That is the only party so far wherein i gave a blow-out to my classmates (ehem...) as in the only one, minus that incident when I was sixteen wherein I invited about 40 of my classmates to come to my party but out of the 40 only one came plus my cousin and her now-boyfriend. Since after my 7th birthday, I haven't have grand blow-out after.
the most ironic thing then when I was still in Grade school was that since my birthday falls on the 31st of August, it goes along with my school's celebration of Montessori Day, a commemoration of the birth anniversary of the founder of the Montessorian method of teaching, Maria Montessori (I studied in Saint Mary Montessori in Valenzuela City but it is not in any way affiliated with other Montessorians schools such as OB Montessori along Commonwealth, Ave. QC), other than Montessori Day, We also celebrate the Linggo ng Wika celebration so it's several events in one day almost. I grew up getting used to it until the time came when I left SMMC and studied overseas for a year and went back, ended up finishing Grade 6 and High school in St James Academy (I was known by the nickname Jaime in SJA).
Now, things were different when I celebrated my birthday in the United States six years ago. First of all, since the East Coast where we live is almost a day behind the Philippines, I have the thought of celebrating my 11th birthday on 12nn of the 30th instead of past midnight on the 31st! Hehehehe, talk about laugh trip, but really it is a technicality that I actually like, as in really, why not celebrate your birthday 12 hours before the actual day since the next day would fall on the first half of the globe and later would it fall on the other 12 hours later? However, I wasn't able to celebrate it with my new friends in VA since they barely knew me much for 2 months before August of that year. However, ironic as it may be, I was the one who knew their birthdays and got invited by their parties (well, at least one of them did). Too bad since a year later, they have by now already knew when was my birthday (12 noon August 30 EST, 12 am August 31 Philippine time) but by that time I was already in the Philippines. I got some gifts from my parents (parent actualy since my dad went back to work in the Philippines since he was only staying in America on leave). One still remember was my new pair of eyeglasses since my old pair, barely half a year old and already, one of its lenses is already popping out.
Now the time came when I have a weird way of celebrating my birthday in the 5 years that I was in SJA. By August 1, I would already remind my classmates about my birthday by saying "30 days na lang", "25 days na lang", which is kinda annoying on their part. another way was the time I was assistant secretary in First year, I would always make a a birhday countdown by writing it on my attendance record where I usually record the conduct (tardy, absences, etc) of my constituents. Later, whne I disocvered the power of the chalkboard and the whiteboard, I would sometimes write my countdown although not too much since they get erased anyway.
What's only saddening was that barely do they greet me with a "happy birthday" or giving me some gifts. It's only my cousin who is 11 days older than me who actually know about my birthday and the only one who greets me about it, on the condition that I could give her a gift on her birthday on the 20th. Pweghh! Sad but true, ironic too for I know their birthdays, i greet them yet they never bring back the favor to (But I'm expecting too much really). the problem lies on the fact that many of my batchmates already know each other since birth so they already know a lot about each other. I want to do the same but they never did. I want people to know me better but it's sad to know that on my very birthday (particularly when I turned 15), my class adviser almost insulted me for not wearing a barong (the Linggo ng Wika celebration fell on that day) and since it is my birthday, feeling insulted burst into tears. As in, HELLO!? Who would want to be bad tripped on their own birthday? No one in SJA don't respect me so I hate them (not all okay?)
Now that I am in Benilde, I wonder how I am going to celebrate my birthday. normally I don't give blow-outs and I would'nt do it for this year too. but in a way, next Friday is kind of lucky since it officially that last day of the 1st Term. Afterwards I guess, I'm going to celebrate it with just my family, probably going malling and getting gifts from only my relatives. I'm no longer expect my collegian friends to greet me but it'd be nice if they do nor am I gonna expect epople to give me presents which is overly too much already.

Six Years of jlhabitan@yahoo.com, jbata5 and foruming
It was August 2001, just a few weeks before my 11th birthday, I was super jealous that my 2 older siblings already have their own email addresses. So I begged my mother to register my own email add. The difficulty for my part was, since I was 10 turning 11, I was not old enough to register my own since Yahoo! only allows people 13 and above to freely register without any hassle. Those below thirteen must need their parent's permission to have their own so it's kinda hard really. Eventually, my mom had me surprised when she called me up from her office in DC, telling me that I now have my own email address, jlhabitan@yahoo.com. Yeah and my password was pretty easy to remember (considering I already know it personally). At first, I don't have anyown to email with but a year later, I was able to use my email add to communicate with some of my friends in America and eventually to a whole lot. Overtime, I registered several other email addresses but it was really jlhabitan that really stood by me through the course of the years. now I use jlhabitan@yahoo.com for YM purposes. So HAPPY 6TH ANNIVERSARY!
Now on with the foruming. When I was at the states for a year, I was really curious with the message board website of the Disney Channel's teen block (Zoog Disney) and so with the help of my mom's email add from the World Bank, I have myself regsitered into Zoog Disney's online forums. Now, that was when we have a bogus computer with a slow dial-up service. When we got a new Dell PC with a better dial-up service from AT&T, that's how it really began. July 2001, my family visited our relatives in Normandy Ave., LA County, CA. there was one Filipino I've met who was surfing the net one night and logged himself in to a website called NEOPETS. At first it was an online chatroom so I got curious. Just before we left LA, I quickly remembered the name of the website-NEOPETS.COM. So in no timie at all, using my own email add, I regsitered myself into Neopets and my first known username was jbata5. Well, talked about that! Then I should have mentioned that it has been six years since I first used my usernmae jbata5! hehehehehe! So anyway, not long after that< eventually got hooked on other online forums especially when we came home the year after. I registered myself under several names (which reflects my personality and personal favorites and everything that starts with the letter "j").
Some well known online forums that I've been to are the following: Neopets.com, zoogdisney.com, nick.com, kpopmusic.com. sokorean.com/forum, soompi.com, igma.tv, forum.abs-cbn.com, forums.abs-cbn.com, pinoyexchange.com, gendou.com, and a whole lot more. You know, I have been too much exposed to this foruming thing that you may as well call me a veteran. I still can't believe that I've been into it for six years now and still doing it.
Less than a week by now will be my 17th birthday so not only will I celebrate it, I'l be celebrating jlhabitan@yahoo.com, jbata5, and my online foruming thing.

I Hate People with DSLRs
It all started when I was still taking pictures of major school events since 3rd Year high school. Even though I'm not the official photographer of the school paper nor was I the chief school documentarian. It was just a hobby gone wild really. Next thing I knew I was making movies out of the pictures that I took. Well, hindi nga saktong 3rd Year, simula pa noong Intrams namin nung Grade 6 pa, gamit ang Olympus camera na de-film ng mommy ko. Then not only ws I making movies, I even started posting them on Youtube starting with my first Jamer movie "Noli Me Tangere: Sisa". Ahhh!
Now, then came my senior year. These two batchmates that I know have with them a new Canon DSLR (well one of them has a Canon model, the other I'm not sure yet). I got jealous because they take better shots than me. Other than the fact that the digicam that I was using was not keen on quality, it made me look so inferior to theirs. And that is how it began my hatred towards DLSR-possesing peeps.
Hindi naman kapag galit ako sa kanila eh di ko sila kakausapin, it's just that I have this feeling that something that I actually like is being taken away from me. Removing the reason why I like taking pictures. Digital photography, I feel is the thing for me and it is the reason why I pursued my MMA course. My hobby for digital photography had me branched out to making slideshow movies and eventually using a little creativity made making these kind of movies a little less dull (even my moviemaking skill was looked down and frowned upon by one the guys I was telling you about).
Now, I joined this org for MMA majors. And I see a lot of people who use DLSRs and it made me even more miserable and felt more inferior. What's up with that? Maybe I have an inferiority complex, I don't know. I also want to take pictures that are out of this world and is 100% quality-rrific.
Talk about DLSRs, these gadgets are truly expensive. My initial price guess was that they cost around 15k to 20k+ but they actually cost more than that! There was also this guy in CSb who was selling a second-hand DLSR, I aksed for the price and I was shocked that his so-called "cheap and affordable" price offer is way out of my wallet's reach! I can't believe he's selling a second-hand camera with a price that could make you think that it's still brand new but WHAT THE HOW!?
I don't expect my parents to buy me one, considering their modest incomes as government employees. I can't even save money to buy one, what for Php 500+ a week, it could actually be the death of me. So how I wish for me 17th birthday that someone would give me a DSLR as a present but I'm not expecting too much. So nangangarap lang.

The Talkative Barber: J-Edition (Chapter 9)
Chapter 9
The First and The Last For Him!
(Ang Nakaraan...We last saw our hero having a very long conversation with the apothecary's journeyman. This led him to almost certain danger. The journeyman almost fell victim to the boring tales of Getr until he forgot that he have an errand to do. Let's see who opened the door now)
(At the door of the apothecary's residence)
Jesper: Hello? who is it? (OPening thedoor slightly)
Gert: It is I! Gert Westpahler, fiancee and future kabiyak of your master's daughter.
Jesper: Ahh, Ok. I thought you were someone else like Ate Glo or something.
Gert: What's your name again? Jesper?
Jesper: Duh!! As if! You already came here for like ten time! Have you not know my name at that time?
Gert: oops! Sori 'tol!
Jepser: Che! Manigas ka 'no!
Gert: Well anyway; jesper, is the apothecary home?
Jesper: Uhm..Let me see...Ah..yes. But there's an inspection today, I believe he would not be able to attend with you. But he told me to call the young lady whenyou come.
Gert: Oh, please do. Thank you. PLease tell her that I'll be waiting.
Jesper: Uhuh...wait. (turning his head around)...Hoy, senyorita halika nga rito...(turning his head back to Gert) Please wait at the couch. I'll drag her here.
Gert: Ok.
(Gert, sits down and read some magazine)
(He reads a magazine titled: "The Gossip Mag for Idiots LIke You" and later on "Barber's Daily)
Gert: Ooh! There's a sale on scissors and razors! wow, $50.00 for a pair of swiss knifes!! Ang ganda nito!
(What would happen if Jesper didn't comeback for Gert? What would Leonora do with Gert now that his days are now numbered? Will Gert keep reading the Gossip Mag for Idiots Like You or the Barber's Daily? Stay tuned for the next dramatic, award-winning, yet heart-thrilling episode of The Talkative Barber: J-Edition!!!)

The CSB Experience: When It Rains, It Pours
Okay, It's been raining almost nonstop since Wednesday and hat day was no laughing matter. Since it was a school day, I have to go to my PEONEPF class on 9:20 AM to take my finals, meaning making some weird choreography of "high-impact" aerobic steps and blah, blah, blah. Earlier that day, I asked my bunso if I could borrow his I-Pod and take in its content some danceable O2Jam tunes. He's okay with it so I ended up taking out almost 500 MB worth of songs from his I-Pod and there remained a qaurter of what was left of it. Just to be sure, I also borrowed my dad's "AEROKAEBO" vcd which stars Pia Guanio so if ever we'd be allowed to do some aerobic thingies from a vcd.
I was on my way out when I noticed that the clouds oustide are getting gloomy (makulimlim) so brought with me not only my handy-dandy umbrella (from my sponsor Penshoppe) but a hoodless La Salle-Dasma jacket. I got this when a firend of my mom gave it to her and since she don't wantnit, she gave it to me. I already have a hooded Lasalista raincoat but it's too impractical for me to wear because of its large size.
Well anyway, but the time I arrived at Monumento, it's still gloomy but it's not yet raining. I ahd tis feeling that it going to rain hard. I was by now inside the LRT train when Lance called me up from my cellphone. He asked if classes in CSB is suspended. Asking him why, he replied that their place in San Juan is already flooded so he may not be able to go to school. When the train was already past Bambang station, I overlooked the windows and saw from myself flooded streets. Just as we crossed Pasig River, it began to rain really hard that I can quickly see from the windows that streets are immediately got filled with water. I couldn't imagine what would Taft Avenue would look like by the time I arrived at Vito Cruz Station.
My mind couldn't get any better, the whole Taft Ave. is bloody flooded and people going to CSB and those from La Salle U are stranded. Thos going to La Salle can't walk their way since the sidewalk is flooded while those going to CSB found ti difficult walk across the flooded Taft. Good thing that I hitched a pedicab ride with a fellow CSB schoolmate. I was shocked that the pedicab driver is charging me 20 Pesos for crossing Taft! I can't believe that these people are charging innocent passengers even if the regular fare is really 5 pesos. I find them more scrupulous than the more honest ones from back home.
Anyway, i only had a few 1-peso coins with me and a whole 500 Peso bill so the driver can't do much but to accept the nine-pesos I gave to him (he thought it was 10). I got in, when inside the school bookstore and bought myself a pair of slippers worth 220 pesos. When to the fourth floor finding that class was about to start. Outside was Czarlene and her friend while Jisney was somewhere out there.
To make the long story short, we were dismissed 30 minutes after class started, many who attended got good final grades and told not to go to next week's class. Mikee just arrived but was shocked that she was late and had to take the final exam next wednesday. Gilbert and friends just arrived and where told of the same thing. Genesis arrived but didn't bother to go insde thus he was late. Jisney and Czarlene was marked not present and classes were finally cancelled, yahoo!
I took the LRT back to find Monumento still rain-parched, I made merienda at Araneta Square, it rained by the time the jeep I was riding went past Acacia, and by the time I arrived to Arko, it was flooded so I took a pedicab ride (with a reasonable charge of 5 pesos), came home, ate lunch, and took some siesta time for me to nap.
So the rain fell on the next few days and class were suspended and we lived happily ever after.

Why is Foggy Bottom in Northwest Washington called "Foggy Bottom"?
-- James Habitan, 11, Falls Church
No one knows for sure who said, "Let's call this area 'Foggy Bottom' " -- or even why that name was picked. But, said Gail Redmann, head of the library at the Historical Society of Washington, there are a few ideas about how the neighborhood south of Pennsylvania Avenue NW and west of 23rd Street got its name.
First, let's take those two words. You know what "foggy" means: those white clouds that hug the ground. A "bottom," geographically speaking, is an area of low-lying land near a river. ...

The CSB Experience: TSINELASALISTAS
Ok, La Salle has long been known with all thing green and white, basta kung green, it's La Salle. So one of the surprises that I had was when I saw that CSB and mother school DLSU have a wide array of Lasalista merchandises ranging from jerseys, to caps, to keychains, to bags, to jackets, to paperbags, to t-shirts, to shorts, to even perfume. I won't be surprise if they even have a underwear line for the totally devoted Lasalista. Prices depends on the product's size and quality, like this Animo Sleepers I just bought yesterday which costs Php220 from my wallet. So far, I have in possesion one LA SALLE rain coat, one La Salle-Dasma hoodless jacket, a pair of Animo slippers (or what I personally call it TSINELASALISTAS), excluding the apir of Lasalyano t-shirts that my Lasallian sister had since her days from DLSU.
There was a time that because of my Animo slippers, I was all green that time. I was on my way home when I was hitching a ride on the LRT. I noticed that I was all green, from my green striped t-shirt (from Oxygen), CSB PE shorts, La Salle-Dasma hoodless jacket plus my Animo slippers. Really, greenie na greeni ako (thanks to my fondness to the color green).
If there is one thing that I had to say about it is that it really made me laugh when I thought of a name for my slippers. Really, TSINELASALISTAS?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Star Sightings Galore, Up Close and Personal
As in, "Waah, si FVR nga totoo pala siya!".
- Frenchie Dy, OJ Mariano, and the judge from Star in a Million, Basta Kasama Kita co-star, Joross Gamboa, Edu Manzano, Zsazsa Padilla, Ryan Agoncillo, Erik Santos, etc. (August 2003)-it was a staurday, two days bago ako mag-exam. (Ongong rin that time yung auditons for SCQ 2 at Starstruck 2)
- Isabela De Leon (2006-May 2007)-Akalaing taga-Valenzuela rin siya tulad ko. Nag-aara; siya sa Our Lady of Lourdes University at first year HS na siya ngayon. Naging friends nga kami eh, tawag niya sakin "Kuya" which is actually a big thing for me.
- Maritoni Francisco and Hans Montenegro (2004)-Di naman kami mayaman pero we get to eat at this palce sa Fort na kung tawagin ay The Good Earth (by Peark S. Buck).
Banahaw, Taytay Falls, Mt. Makiling). Nakakuha ako ng autograph mula sa kanya at may picture pa kami.
- Manolo Quezon (July 2007)-Very odd ito.
- Dino Imperial (July 2007)-Nasa me Benilde Hall ako, deretso papabalik ng Maria Hall.
- Kjwan (June 2007)-Naalala ko itong bandang to nung Frosh Night. Binuhusan ni Marc Abaya ang mga tao sa harap ng audience ng mineral water na ininom niya (including this writer).
- Callalily (June 2007)-Sama sila sa mga nagperform nung Frosh night, maraming nagsigawang mga kababaihan at nagrakrakang kalalakihan na naka-Black (since that was a Friday, every friday since then became known as Black Friday).
I get to talk to him pero starstrucked ako. Wala sigurong gagawin that time (ongoing pa SOP nung time na iyon) so siguro nakahanp na siya ng time para bumisita.

Actually, Mula first year, madalas siya bumisita sa school kaya ngayon masasabi ko medyo as compared then, tumangkad siya konti pero di naman nabago itsura (as if tayo no, unless super tanda na natin).
Buhay Kolehiyo: Experiencing Signal No. 3

The CSB Experience: Experiencing AKIC
Now, a couple of weeks ago, driven by my curiosity about the campus, I decided to tour myself inside. Too bad, the walking distance between the Taft Campus and the AKIC (Estrada St.) is longer as compared to that from the SDA to Taft (in Pablo Ocampo St.). As I arrived, I asked some of the DO at the front where the student entrance was. They directed me to go on the building's right side. And there you have it, the student entrance. Although, there are other entrances to go inside the AKIC, these are for hotel purposes so there's that.
First stop is the AKIC's LRC. Well, it not a walk in the park since I easily got lost by how I was clueless on going my way. I heard there was a Cafe at the top most floor but since it's Friday evening, they're closed for the weekend. Beside the LRC extension was a hallway leading to the classrooms of the SHRIM students, many clad in uniform (thank heavens, the SDA don't require us to do the same!).
Next stop was the Weights Room which is practically new since it was opened very recently. At first I don't know where I'm going and found myself at the parking garage of the CSB Hotel which occupies about half of the AKIC by looking how muc space it occupies in each floor. Actually the Weights Room was at the other side of the parking garage inside the Third Floor. Hehehe, talk about sweating while walking just to get there!
Though, I haven't explored much of the AKIC, I'll be expecting myself to visit the campus more often in the near future.

The Talkative Barber: J-Edition (Chapter 8)
Chapter 8
The Long Tell Then The Long Tale
(Gert in front of the residence of the apothecary, sitting on a bench)
Gert: Oh, I really have to settle the matter. (He stands up, looking confused and saw a journeyman walking towards the door)...Oh Mr. Journeyman (suprised, he tried to run away from Gert). The Apothecary's Journeyman?! (He grabbed the journeyman's arm and brought him near the bench) May I have a word with you?
Journeyman: Your humble servant, Master Gert. Are you going to the house?
Journeyman: Yes, I was to speak to the beautiful lady. Are you really the apothecary's journeyman? I haven't seen you there so long.
Journeyman: I've only helped here for a week. For 9 years, I'm in Harslev at a chemist shop.
Gert: (surprised) Oh! really? You know Harlev? I know that place indeed! That was when I went to Kiel. I was with the best hatter in Jutland. Mind you every hat I wore was a creation of him. We tried our luck in Kiel, believing that money will grow easily in that place. You need not to work unlike in other places because people of Kiel pay plenty (Journeyman tried to say "Oh, monsieur" several times while Gert's speaking) which is more than enough for one person. There's a good value in that city! And let me tell you the prices of food! A half penny for a pound of the best pork that any man would dream.......Uhm....
Jm: Oh, Monsour (or monsieur) it would take long if I let you finish...
(he leaves but Gett grabbed his hand and drag him to the bench)
Gt: Next, only a farthing for a pound of beef...
Jm: Pardon me master, but I don't have the time to listen to all of this! (he tyried and was grabbed then dragged)
Gt: Fourth, a lubeck half penny for twenty eggs...
Jm: I do not have anything to do with those eggs, butter and pork!
(You know the rest)
Gt: A quar of French brabdy for....Oh!! Don't be impatient mosier. Well I leave that one and go on with my journey. We were traveling in the road, blah, blah................
(Master Gert continued his long tale of adventure and journey in Keil and made the journeyman fall asleep...Until...)
Gt: Oh!! I'm again forgetting my errand!
(He trips on the JOurneyman's foot, the journeyman wakes up and run away)
Gt: I must speak to the lady! I must knock, I must knock.
(He went to the door and knock it with a "BANG! BANG! BANG!" sound. And someone opened the door. Who could it be. Stay tuned to the next exciting yet funny yet dramatic chapter of our long tale ala story! Bye!!)
And remember, say FISH!

(Just as the Apothecary ahd left, pumasok kaagad si Gert at nakita niyang umails na ito sa likuran ng chemist shop, kaya he went cole to his mother to ask "why".)
Gert: why did the apothecary go off so quickly mother?
Guinild: (shouting) Hearkee my child. the man thinks we're having a joke with him. You know that it's over two months since the match has been settled and arranged. And all taht is left is to talk to that girl herself. But one day after another goes by with your comfounded chattering mouth that is not worth to pence (note: The word pence is the name origin of the worde penny).
Gert: Mum, my trips and journeys are very significant! If you let me go overthe whole journey again quickly--- (Guinild interrupts)
Guinild: Oh! Go to Jericho with your errand! And say right out what it is that you want and you don't! That we can call it off at once! Be off now!!
(What will happen to our hero na ngayon lang nagpakita! Stay tuned for the next chapter!)

The Apothecary Meets the Loud Mouthed Mother
(At the Chemist shop, there enter the apothecary Gilbert along with a maid which is not Pernille and a very lowly servant)
Gilbert:Hearkee fellows! Make sure that everything is in order for the doctors would would be here anytime now! I believe they would inspect the shop this afternoon. I expect the Gin and Brandy (aka Smooth Sweet Clear) are good, they won't bother much about anything else. In that way Dr. Herman had inspected my shop ten years ago!! Blah!! Blah!!
Guinlid: I'M SO GLAD I FOUND YOU!!
Gilbert: Aah!!! Santissima!! What are you doing here Guinlid!! (Making a sign of the cross in fear).
Guinlid: I have a notion to talk to you.
Gilbert: A notion? I've said over and over that I like the idea of being a father-in-law. You had promise your son would be there to settle the matter. He does come! But bringing a different topic as he chat and jabbers on into the night. I've seen no one courting in that manner all the time in my whole disembodied life! I'm not going to be made a fool no longer! If he wants to meet my daughter, he has to put an end to it! Did I just make myself clear, loud-mouthed woman?
Guinild: He'll do it! I swear he will! You know Mr. Apothecary, it is not that he is cold; he's just too much in love with the young lady.
Gilbert: If that's the case, why didn't he propose instead of telling tales of horror to her?
Guinild: Today, he swore he would settle it. I promise!
Gilbert: And hope to die?
Guinild:If it is possible.
Gilbert: That would be great. My daughter would be home. I've no time to attend to him. Adieu but let him come at once.
Guinild: Yes, he will come. he will come all right. (Evil smirk on her face, probably to her idiotic son).

Chapter 5
Nagsasalita si Ina!! Baliw Ba Siya?
(After three days at the chemist shop of the apothecary's...)
Guinild: Evevry day now, he promised he would settle the matter. He's been in the apothecary's house for more than ten times and had every chance to ask for his daughter. And now, tne apothecary's angry and ask if we're making a fool out of him as the matter is settled between the aprents and all that remains is for him to say a word to the girl. Hmmm...but now, he sworn that he'll go through it. So I'll go to the apothecary and put him in a ghood temper. But I think his coming.

Leave Me In Peace, huhuhuh!
(After like three minutes Leonora gained consciousness and was given a glass of water).
Leonora: What did he meant by that pernille?
Pernille: It meant that Master Gert should go to Jericho.
Leonora: Aren't you ashamed to be spiteful about my sweetheart in my presence?
Pernille: What kind of Sweet heart do you have when he talks about the news abd politics when he's supposed to be making love with a young lady like you?!
La: I'm sure he'll lose his love in Talking.
P: Oh. miss. There's no use saying that.
La: well, let's just change the subject. Kindly tell me what Monsieur Leonrad was talking about.
P: He was quite desperate when he heard you were to be married. He's been in love for you for like year now.
La: I wonder how dare he presume to say such things?
P: But why are you sighing so deeply.?
La: excuseme I wasn't!
P: Now you have done it again!!
(Steam come out from Leonora's ears)
La: I'm not Pernille! Oh leave me in peace!! (Goes out crying)
(Pernille Alone)
P: She's crying. i can see if all depended on her, she would choose the other one. (Someone's shouting her name aloud)

Leonard:

Nagpapaalam ka dahil nasaktan kita
Noo'y 'di makitang mali ako

Sana muli ako'y mapatawad pa
REFRAIN

Gayong wagas yaring pag-ibig mo
Iniwan pa kita (iniwan pa kita), laging nag-iisa
Bakit pa nagawa ito sa 'yo

Leonora: For some reason why did you sang me that's song. I have to faint now so hurry.Leonard: Okay, we'll better be leaving anyway, see you soon! And there's no reason on why i sang you that song to serenize you, besides there's nothing you nor I can do about it. Adieu beautiful lady.

Henrich: Oh, I'm talking to the apothecary's maid ah este "jar".
Pernille: You got that right sister!
Leonard: How's the prescription i need?
Pernille: Sorry but you're too late, the apothecary has already arrabged a match betwen Master Gert and Leonora so we can't do about it.
Henrich: well that's just plain bad. What do say sir.
Leonard: I don't know, but i have to fight my love for Leonard:she can't be a take-out witn some bloody engerz.
Henrich: but my lord, she's just fifteen.
Ld: i know about that. I already waited for three years before i can hear her sweet "yes".

La:i have too, i'm just too obedient to father that just can't deny his order for me to get married.

I'm Only An Apothecary's Jar
(In a Chemist shop)
Henrich: Excuse girlie, are there any girlies like you. I saw you out of the chemist.
Pernille: Excuse me! I think you made a mistake. I'ma only an apothecary's jar and not a girl!
Henrich: if you are girl, i can date you.
Pernille: Haha!! Very funny. wha t do you want.
henrich: i need a medicine which is written in the prescription letter from my master.
P: Who is you master anyway?
H:Master Leonard, he really needs the drug for him to be cured.
P: I wanna know who's the doctor who wrote that prescription. (tries to grab it)
H: It's from Dr. Cupid. Do you think I'm crazy?
P: I'm an anima and i don't think your crazy. Plus Dr. Cupid ran a long time ago! Get me that prescription.
H: It says, Daer Leonora i ask for your sweet "yes".
P: You think that he's in love with our young lady.
H; Tumpak! No you got it.
P: I'm sorry the medicine he wanted was already given to abnother man.
H: Who?

H: whatnis it?
P: He's the Talkative type. whenever he propose, he suddenly starts on another topic. It could be anything but the most usual story of all is his trip from Harslev to Kiel.

The Talkative Barber: J-Edition (Foreword)
Foreword
(Before anything else, I wrote this online novel when I was in 3rd Year High School (written in a period almost 10 months to complete) so please bear my incredibly long list of grammatical errors ranging from typographical errors to plain wrong choices of words, I'll be leaving most of the novelAknowledgement:
I would like to thank my classmate from Second Year who made this (James' note: Mica Ann Isidro who is now in UP provided us with the script of the playwright of the Talkative Barber). :):):):)
This is a story based on "The Barber of Baghdad" (I was researching about it on Yahoo Search and came aacross a page where it has a story called "the Barber of Baghdad" whose storyline was almost identical to the novel's plot so that was my initial presumption). But the orignal story is German-made and this one is just exactly like that. I hope you can laugh this story because this was actually a play which garnered awards and nominations at the recently-held Sophomore Play productions Awards in which the the best class competed against each other in terms of acting and special things and the like. The Talkative Barber bagged the Best Actress Award and the Best Sophomore Play. It got nominations for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Actress and Best in Costume.
Here is the the cast of the lay which i'm going to used for the J-Edition:
Jaime Luis "James" Habitan as Gert Westphaler aka the Talkative Barber
Laudale "Laudz" Zabala also known as Dale as Leonora aka the Trouble Fiancee
Angelo "Onang" Francisco as Leonard aka the Desparate Lover
Ellaine "Other Side" Luzada as Guinild Westphaler aka the Barber's Big mouthed Mom
Robin Smith "Bin" Benitez as Gilbert aka The Apothecary and Leonora's Dad (Not to be confused with Gilbert RedoƱa of DV1)
Gabriel "Gabo" Buan as Henrich aka The trusted servant of Leonard.
Katrina "Payat" Rigodon as Pernille aka The Apothecary's Jar.
Norman Lirio as Jesper aka the Apprentice.
Martin Halum as The Notary aka the Notary.
Zean "Elvis" Vallestero as Gottard aka The annoying Uncle.
Alvin "Ace" Santos as The Journey aka the Driver.
Kelvin "Keb" Mateo as Atty. Tobias as the formally acclaimed Lawyer.
This story is based sometime in 19th century Europe.
(Ows?!)

LRT Tales: Ang Magkasintahang Koreano
The LRT train I was on was close to being jam-packed, however, there is still room on this side of the train where I was on. When it had a stop-over at UN Ave. Station, a couple (the stars of our story) went inside and standed next to me. These couple are Koreans who are probably studying in one of the colleges lined along Taft Avenue by looking how young they are. At first I didn't noticedthat the guy was a foreigner since he spoke a Filipino phrase in an almost unaccented manner (He said "tabi po"). His girlfriend seems like she's whining about something but it is obvious taht it is her first time riding the LRT. Good thing that the boyfriend is familiar with the stops, making me think that he was here in Manila longer than her.
I didn't mean to eavesdrop but I was practically beside them so I can't help but trying to understand what they're talking about. I could almost undertsand them since they speak colloquial Konglish, code-switching between Korean and English. It looks like they were going to eat at a mall in Monumento, the LRT's last stop, but when we passed on this mall before reaching Central Terminal, the girl asked the guy if it is a mall. The guy said it is and told her that it is SM Manila (the mall's name). The girl probably know about SM so she asked him why not eat there. I had no idea what the guy answered.
Playing tourist guide, the boyfriend showed all the places familiar to him to the girl, including a church when we passed by Sta. Isabel College, the Quezon Bridge along the Pasig (so that's its name), and the Pasig River itself. Beside those was Feati University on the other side of the river. When the train stopped at Carriedo, the girl was amazed by the throngs of people she saw over the station's window, which overlooks Carriedo Street (one of the busiest commercial streets in Manila where it is jam-packed full at night).
Since I was standing, a passenger sitted in front of me got up and left, leaving an empty seat. I offered the seat to the girl although I didn't say anything. Over the next station (Doroteo Jose), the guy showed his metal ticket to the girl, pointing on their destination which is the Monumento Station. I undertsand since they don't have Korean terms "Doroteo Jose" and "Monumento", add to the fact that Filipino and Korean are both somehwat phonetic as compared to English. The girl got sad since they still have a long way to go.
Later on, another passnger in front of me got up and left another vacant seat. The boyfriend of the girl offered me the seat but I politely declined. I told him "No, you go". I offered that seat to him so at least he and the girl could sit together. There was another seat left vacant so I took it and was sitted next to the couple. I knew that I made a good decision to give the seat to the guy for the rest of the ride, they were in each other's arms. The girl was sleeping at his side and the guy was holding her tight. Now that's true love!
I was happy and all the way smiling since it really feels good to see couple in love (although I dislike some couples showing intimate PDAs in public). It's like watching seeing a movie in reality. There's a lot of stories to tell, even just in the LRT. So I wonder...
