Chapter 6
The Apothecary Meets the Loud Mouthed Mother
(At the Chemist shop, there enter the apothecary Gilbert along with a maid which is not Pernille and a very lowly servant)
Gilbert:Hearkee fellows! Make sure that everything is in order for the doctors would would be here anytime now! I believe they would inspect the shop this afternoon. I expect the Gin and Brandy (aka Smooth Sweet Clear) are good, they won't bother much about anything else. In that way Dr. Herman had inspected my shop ten years ago!! Blah!! Blah!!
Guinlid: I'M SO GLAD I FOUND YOU!!
Gilbert: Aah!!! Santissima!! What are you doing here Guinlid!! (Making a sign of the cross in fear).
Guinlid: I have a notion to talk to you.
Gilbert: A notion? I've said over and over that I like the idea of being a father-in-law. You had promise your son would be there to settle the matter. He does come! But bringing a different topic as he chat and jabbers on into the night. I've seen no one courting in that manner all the time in my whole disembodied life! I'm not going to be made a fool no longer! If he wants to meet my daughter, he has to put an end to it! Did I just make myself clear, loud-mouthed woman?
Guinild: He'll do it! I swear he will! You know Mr. Apothecary, it is not that he is cold; he's just too much in love with the young lady.
Gilbert: If that's the case, why didn't he propose instead of telling tales of horror to her?
Guinild: Today, he swore he would settle it. I promise!
Gilbert: And hope to die?
Guinild:If it is possible.
Gilbert: That would be great. My daughter would be home. I've no time to attend to him. Adieu but let him come at once.
Guinild: Yes, he will come. he will come all right. (Evil smirk on her face, probably to her idiotic son).
