Last Entry for 2008

Here's my last entry for 2008 just so umabot sa 350 ang number of blogs ko (I'll have to recheck if I still have draft bogs though).

Barangay Arkong Bato is at its liveliest on four different occasions: 1)All Saint's Day and 2)Occasional funerals (because Arko has its own cemetery), 3)Christmas (A lot of kids and their parents are all out wearing new clothes), and 4) New Year's Eve (From December 30 until January 1, stalls selling firecrackers and fireworks suddenly appear form left to right).

On the final day of 2008,I don't know how I'd spend it except stay put inside the house, watch TV, and maybe get an afternoon nap. Boring, right?

As boring as it may seems, the only thing that I could be proud on how i spend this very noisy last day is that my whole family is here. We just had lunch together which I guess was the rarest time that all 6 of us in the family are complete for lunch. And fortunately, we're going to be complete tonight for dinner.

We don't follow the traditional paputok-paputok thing where we have bogas and super lolos and taking them out outside to make noise, we're realy not into that. But for this year, we may have an opportunity to do one "inside" the house. My dad recently bought a firecracker, I odn't know which kind, and is planning on using them up outside on our roof deck.

In a few hours, we'll be closing all our windows as we expect people to start flickering all their fireworks as the time clocks down to midnight. Gotta be safe than sorry right?

It's been a relatively god year for me, for family, and for my friends. I hope that this year is going to be better, not just fo me, but for the Philippines.

Wish for the whole year? I hope people learn from their mistakes and unite for progress.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
