It’s the Term Break once more, and not just any term break but my second collegiate Christmas break ever! HahaHAHAHA! Ehem….
But nevertheless, it’s another break of uncertainty for me. Yeah, I got myself enrolled for the third term and all but the recent course card distribution had me wonder if it’s still possible for me to be in Dean’s Lister status for the second straight trimester. I got two 2.0’s from Desprin and NSTPCWT but was able to have my GPA equaled to a 3.0, just enough for me to get 2nd Honor status. But I thought, would the two 2.0’s possible make me not qualify for being DL.
I just hope not, I worked very hard to maintain my grade just so I’d be able to at least become qualified for a grant (if I get to be DL for three straight terms that is). But if not, I guess that’s okay, kahit papaano ay nakaranas na rin ako kung paano maging DL.
Merry Christmas!

As long as you don't have a grade lower than 2.0 you're qualified. Congrats Jaime, we do have the same Term GPA and yes we are qualified as second honor Dean's Listers. =)
ReplyDeletejames, i dont think you're DL anymore.. dpat walang grade lower than 2.5.. :(
ReplyDeleteyung nga kasi yung nakakalito, they said I need to maintain a 2.5 for each subject in order to become DL-qualified but others are saying it's the GPA that really counts.
ReplyDeleteWeird niyo naman, kami nga sa DLSU-M minimum of 2.0 lang e. Hahaha
ReplyDeleteHindi ba yung 2.5 is for the majors? Samin kasi ganun. =)
I think in our case, the qualifying grade was raised to 2.5 from 2.0 last year and it counts for all the subjects we take each term.
ReplyDeleteReason for that is for the students to become extra productive to their work (since a lot of people could get a 2.0 average without a sweat) as well as honor DL status to those who truly deserve it.
I just flip through old notes in my handbook and found out that in order to become DL, one should have a grade no lower than 2.5 in any of the subjects taken for the term covered and a GPA of at least 3.0.
Weird nga lang is that I became DL wondering if it may have been possible that my 1.0 grade in bmat2x was counted in my 1st term GPA.
