The CSB Experience 2: Paano Na Ba?

The Reason To Be

I wonder...was it a mistake to do this from the very beginning?

Some error that needs to be corrected and avoid repeating it?

Is it a crime for which you think I shouldn't have committed?

Why is it that I'm keep on doing it? What is it that I'm trying to prove?

Is there something you want me to do other than change what you think I shouldn't be doing?

Then let me ask you this:
  1. Have I forced you to look upon this?
  2. Do I want you to do this even if you don't even have to?
  3. Why is it that what I'm doing should not be in that form?
  4. Is there a lamer excuse why you continue to do it just for the heck of it?
I'm doing this because I want to. I'm doing this because I love what I'm doing.

It makes me happy, it helps me. It makes me realize what kind of a person I am with every turn of the page. It made me look at things on a different way, to see things in a different light.

It pains me not to take it all out, all the problems, all the stress, all the negative energy feeling from within. I'm not even forcing you to spend a lifetime observing me. You're doing it from your own free will.

I don't expect people to take notice, I don't expect them to do it all. It's their choice if they want to, not mine. What I can't do in my state, I can do it any way.

The way I chose is the way I wanna go.

So don't you dare tell me what I ought to do to make what I'm doing acceptable to your terms. I know you're merely suggesting, but I can't modify it to suit your taste.

If you, if ever you do, have a problem with it then ignore it. I can't make you do something, it's your choice if you wanna do it anyway.

I'm leaving the door open so anytime, anywhere, your pretty much welcome to come in and see the beauty of it all.

[Another self-written prose I thought of putting up. Watching movies really do wonders on keeping myself inspired for my literary endeavors :D]

The CSB Experience 2: Trace of Force (Bakas ng Puwersa)

Currently live from one of these labs in 3rd floor Benilde Hall, CSB Main)

I only knew about a general election in CSB last week when posters of candidates from one of the parties (either BAKAS or PUWERSA) began appearing ONLY in the SDA Caf and nowhere else in the School of Design and Arts building.

I was kinda expecting that they'll do their campaign in SDA door-to-door in many of the classrooms of the building some sort of a miting de avance inside one of the major hang-outs in the building, beyond Plaza Villarosa (which is in Main).

Unfortunately, news of an election was not well spread inside all week. I only found out that it was already election time when a voting booth was established at the SDA lobby.

As a concerned and patriotic student of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, it's kinda my duty to vote for the new set of officers so I said "What the heck, I'm gonna make my voice heard..".

At first, I thought the election is going to be like last year when many of the booths were both manual and computerized in terms of voting procedures, especially when a PC was set up in the booth I was voting in a while ago in SDA. Sadly, according to the girls manning the booth, a web domain was not created in time for the computerized voting so who ever was running this election (this year;s SC) had no choice but to opt for manual voting instead.

I asked them (I assume they're SC officers) on how come there wasn't much publicity promoting the school election (which should be a big thing in every school you go to). They told me that they weren't able to announce beforehand of the then upcoming miting de avance (which happened last Wednesday in Main) in SDA. No wonder the students of Pablo Ocampo didn't notice that there was such happening on the other building found in Taft.

I also aired my concerns of what seems to be an utterly lack of campaigning on the part of the parties vying for positions to the two ladies. First, they [the candidates] did tried campaigning inside the classrooms found in SDA [based from a reliable source] but looks like they didn't do the same to the other "classrooms" found inside the building: computer laboratories, animation studios, and other non-traditional classrooms where students could be found most likely there.

Second, they may have put up posters on the windows of the SDA Caf but they weren't there physically to personally promote their respective campaigns as compared to what I saw in Main yesterday where a member of one of the two parties were distributing pieces of paper bearing the face of one of their candidates if not the whole party line-up.

The SC officers-to-be should know first hand that in order to win votes from the students, they have to be WITH the students. Heck, I don't even know who they are, what their campaign agendas are, nor their reasons why they wanna run the school.

Compared to last year, student life was still centric to Main but because of the seemingly-developing isolation brought by the presence of the SDA building and the growing autonomy and vibrancy of student life found in there (compared to AKIC which contains mostly classrooms and kitchen labs), looks like Main being the driving force to all Benildeans is starting to wane.

--------------------------

On an election-related note: For those who have read my past coverage of last year's election, I truly apologize for the grave erratum I've commited and failed to correct for over a year. Last year's SC candidate, Jean Kim, was not running for VP for Concerns, nor the other VP positions but was actually running for president which he eventually won over two other candidates.
-----------------------

Unrelated note: March 28 is Earth hour from 8:30-9:30PM Philippine Standard Time as well as cousin Kuya Bobon's graduation day in UST.

March 28 will also be the day that little brother Jorge be graduating high school (he's going to UST by the way). Jarren, Kuya Bon's brother is finally making the jump to high school by finally going to his final rites as a Grade 6 student tomorrow.

Tomorrow is also the last day I'll be be doing community service in Baseco Compound in Port Area/Intramuros, Manila (Gonna miss teaching the kids dearly) as well as the day I mark my two years of high school graduation.

The CSB Experience 2: Off to Strata 2000

I mentioned to you guys before that I'm this sort of a "human compass". I would frequent places as far as I could go and I have a pretty good, if not always perfect, sense of direction.

Take yesterday for instance. I was on my way to this place called "Clique n Snap" found in Strata 2000 in F. Ortigas Jr. Ave (formerly Emerald) in order to print my portfolio for Fotogra. With me was Raymond who also want to have his printed as well.

From the Vito Cruz LRT station, we dropped off in EDSA station then went straight to MRT Taft en route to Ortigas station. From there, we walked passed SM Megamall, crossed the street in St. Francis Square and turned left to J. Vargas. And from J. Vargas, we finally arrived in F. Ortigas.

At first, I though CnP was in Strata 100, that building whose name is printed in bold at the front. Turns out, we were mistaken. The guard called CnP using the number saved in my cellphone. What's weird is that after making that phone call, he asked a high 5 from me.

Realizing it was, in fact, Strata 2000, we crossed Emerald and walked straight inside that pinkish building with a "cherry" tower on top.

The building has really weird elevators: You press the number of your preferred floor, a screen will show you which elevator should you wait for (A, B, C, D, E, F).

At the fourth floor, we finally airrved to our prime destination. Armed only with our best shots, we had them all printed into two solid portfolios, one for me and the other for Raymond.

I was grossly surprised to know that my portfolio alone cost me about ONE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY SEVEN PESOS!

Yes, hard to believe but its true. My mom only gave me Php1,200 but good thing I had some extra hundred-peso bills in my wallet, with a lot more to spare for merienda.

We were there until around 5:30pm. Raymond and I had merienda at McDonalds, found just inside Strata 100. Afterwards, we went back to MRT Ortigas to ride home safely.

I'll have pictures of my best shots posted really soon.

PS: I wanna die because I failed to notice the wrong grammar in the "About Me" page before I had it printed...WAGHH!

After Two Years Time (The J-Blog Files 2nd Anniversary Special)

Happy Anniversary to the J-Blog Files for reaching its second year!

I would like to thank first and foremost the Lord Almighty for giving me an avenue to finally express my deepest desires through writing journals online. TJBF gave me a sense of achievement and help me go through a lot of challenges that may come along the way.

The site had come a long way since the time I began the website. At first it was all for the reason of replying about Dianne Naval's early entry with regards to the then-upcoming Chimes 2007 yearbook. After that, the rest as they say was history.

Ironically, today is exactly 2 years since I've made my first blog: "Just Before Graduation" dated March 23, 2007. Only three people had viewed the entry (Clues: 2C, There, Mister)

Afterwards, I chronicled a lot of events, including the happiest as well as the controversial entries made. Then later ventured to the other functions of Multiply. I got to try out other literary forms such as poetry and prose. Someday, I will get the time to finish the "Paglisan" and "When She Left Me" blog serials.

Today, I continue to learn more about life as well as jolt down the best and worst that life could offer.

-----

I wanna share this as well:

1. Since my youngest sibling will finally get to graduate from high school this coming March 28, I just realize by now that 3-28 is exactly the day I was finally done with high school, 2 years before.

2. March 29 was the Honor's Convocation I never bothered to come the next day. Only to realize that I was given a conduct award for perfect attendance! WAGHH! (Same day as the pool party I never knew had happened on the same day after the convocation)

3. Never got to read my final report, I immediately had it submitted to the CSB Admissions Office on the 30th when I finally decided on going to that school.

Twist of events? :D
---

Happy 2nd Anniversary!

----

Just to add something up though kinda OT, I failed to secure an application for the FOP this summer. Grrr...why can't SAO place their ads as early as January! I only got to know about this a couple of weeks ago when they started putting ads on SDA.

By next summer, I may no have the chance to do FOP'ing if I am to have my OJT as stated in my flowchart!

Reality and Dreams: 3rd Time, 2-Peat, 1 Story (The J-Blog Files 2nd Anniversary Special)

Another repeat of past events occurred to me last Saturday. History tried to lay its hand the 2nd time on retconning (retroactively continue) a recycled storyline upon me.

If you've been following my R&D series for the past 2 years, you may have already read about two entries with similar plotlines: The first happened in Hulo, Malabon back when I was still a high school senior. I was on my way from violin practice in SJA when a seemingly lost foreigner in a car asked me for directions going to Bayan and I showed him the way. The second happened several months later when I'm now a frosh in CSB. I just came home from school early in the evening when an Indian man riding a car approached me while I was walking across M.H. Del Pilar Street towards the subdivision. He asked me for directions going to Mercury Drug-Polo, thus I also showed him the way.

And this one was no different except for a few things: 1)It happened in an LRT station, 2)The foreigner was not driving a car, but he was about to ride a train. But the same old things remained.

I was now on a rush, trying to hitch a train ride home North after a toiling 3 hours of NSTP. Just when I was about to go past the ticket gate, I was approached by a Chinese-looking foreigner (based from his accent, he's probably Chinese). He showed me a map of the LRT-MRT system and was pointing to some stations.

He pointed to the MRT-Ayala Station. He then pointed to LRT-EDSA station. He wanted to know how he would be able to get himself to the MRT line. I told him that he take a train going south and stop by EDSA station. I further followed, "There' be a bridge linking EDSA to the starting point of the MRT, which is the MRT-Taft Station. From there, you'd be in Ayala in no time!". He thanked me and went on his way.

Pasada Bigla Bagal; Manong Laging Higpit Nagbagong Gupit

My last class in school ends in 5:45pm and I usually am in Monumento en route to home around 6:30pm. One of the things I do when I'm in the area is to put on a serious face if I see law-breakers trying to cross the street (Samson Road) if the traffic enforcer have not yet given the commuters the greenlight to walk across. This Monday was no different.

However, may dagdag eksena...

While sporting a very serious face, I didn't notice that a vehicle was slowing down in front of me, and I mean slowing down FOR ME!

A window at the front seat opens and an awfully familiar face came sprouting out from that very window.

"JAIME!"

I heard someone screaming my name out loud kaya hinanap ko kung saan iyon nanggaling. Turns out, it was in fact Jeco who seemed to have finaly got himself a badly-needed haircut and now sports shorter hair. Afterwards, the vehicle quickly left towards the rotunda and drove into the limelight and beyond.

The CSB Experience 2: Regenerated Schedule

Got this email from DLS-CSB's email address. So far, here's the sched I encoded last Monday before the so-called "glitch" in the SIS was "corrected" by the ACTC past 8 AM.

My enrolled course(s) and schedule as of 3/17/2009 6:17:40 PM:

2DANIM1 - PreEnrolled - DMA1 (M 8:00:00 AM-11:00:00 AM A1106)
3DANIM1 - PreEnrolled - DMAA (T 2:45:00 PM-5:45:00 PM A1003)
CADVIS1 - PreEnrolled - DMA8 (H 2:45:00 PM-5:45:00 PM A1107)
CNCTPHO - PreEnrolled - DMA4 (T 8:00:00 AM-11:00:00 AM A1114)
VIDPRD1 - PreEnrolled - DMA8 (W 8:00:00 AM-11:00:00 AM A1101)
WEBDEV1 - PreEnrolled - DMA2 (M 2:45:00 PM-5:45:00 PM A1103)

Sino kaya mga kaklase ko come junior year?

Si Zack, Mahilig Manggulat!

Daming nangyari nung nakaraang Sabado.

Sa ngayon sina Carlos, Mark, Gerard, Michael, Angelique Ashley, Senelita, Mangga, Zack, Cheche a.k.a.

The CSB Experience 2: Access Past 8

I thought MMA under 107 were supposed to have their scheduling encodement this Wednesday so I wonder how some of us were able to access the SIS and encode the schedules that we desire for junior year first term. Sometime past 8 this morning, access to the SIS became restricted to certain students.

I wasn't able to take a picture of my schedule for the 1st term but here's what I still remember so far:

Monday
2DANIM1 8-11
VIDPROD1 14:45-5:45

Tuesday
3DANIM1 8-11
CONCEPTPHO 14:45-5:45 Jomel Gregorio

Wednesday

This may not be my final sched yet so stay tuned for updates.

The CSB Experience 2: Fear and Oblivion

J Pics D70 Pics: Mah Second Studio Portrait Photoshoot

Fotogra DMA1
ISO: 200

Equipment: Nikon D70, redhead, Lightstand, Tripod, Backdrop

Model: Christopher King
-----

My own critique: I'm quite disappointed as to how this shoot came out. First, my model can't act nerdy enough. Second, the kind of facial expressions that I wanna make him do doesn't show in the output (even if I demonstrated it myself on how he could effectively do those expressions on face). Third, he found the costume I brought for him too large for him to wear, which was basically the point. He pretty much preferred the other shirt I brought for my studio still life shoot. And lastly, he can't act the way I want him to act in some of the shots. Sorry though I need to say these things so I could roundhouse kick my face to do better. Beh :D

Oh well, first time to be an art director. Next time, I will have to make sure my models do listen to me. Grrr...Why oh why do I have to be the nice guy? :( Hehehe

Jeepney Entertainment!

Singhot dito, singhot doon. May hawak siyang cellphone, mukhang may tinetext siya. Malamang girlfriend niya yon. Iniisip ko na ganito iyung eksena:

BF: "LUV, HOW N U? MIS N KTA...<3"
GF: "OK NMAN, KL2XKO LNG S ME 3NOMA. MIS U N RN XOXO"
BF: "PKIRAMDM KO PRANG MXADONG LONG TYO DI MAGKITAKITS
GF: "LUV, K2XYANIN NATIN 2...2 WIX NAMAN ME SA ANTIPOLO"
BF: "TAKOT ME. BKA DI ME MABUHAY NA WALA U :("
GF: "LUV, MAHAL U B ME?"
BF: "OO, WID ALL MY <3"
GF: "DEN TRUST ME IN DIS. PARA SA BEBE NATIN SUMDAY"
BF: "TAMA K. PRA SA BEBE, ANTAYN KTA U. I LUV U!"
GF: "LUV U 2 WID MY <3 AND SOL"

Tsk tsk. Lovers....

The CSB Experience 2: The Day After The Recovery is the Day of Misery

I just came back from being sick last night and was hoping I could slow things down nice and easy. I know I had some stuff to do for this day we call "Wednesday", but I was kinda expecting something that could kinda not get me back to the SDA clinic once more.

     But turns out, it didn't.

A. As I Open My Eyes
-I was kinda wondering where I put my cellphone. I may have placed it somewhere in my room but I was kinda in a hurry to sleep right away that I figured that my mom would wake me eventually.

Quarter to 6 was the time, and my mom suddenly yelled me wondering, "Do you have classes today?". I was surprised by her call, but my brain's still working. So I took a quick bath, dressed up but skipped breakfast. I know I have to prep my things for Fotogra so I quickly search for props I'm gonna be using for my portrait photoshoot and some clothes in my closet to be used for still-life.

As if that wasn't enough, I turned on the PC to print out my research about the theme I'm using for my portrait shoot.

I had all the clothes I need placed inside a plastic bag while the books that I'll be using as props were placed on my big multipurpose all-in-one black bag pus my usual handcarried bag.

B. Off We Go!
     - As it has been whenever  have early morning classes, I would join my mom and my brother in a carpool that would fetch us to our respective places of work and study. Not to far from our subdivision, I checked my bag if  I forgot anything (I almost left my wallet inside my camera bag which I did not intend on bringing it to school for the meantime). I can't seem to find my Ipod Nano which I often use as a flash drive. I thought I left it on the PC while printing what I was supposed to print.

Fortunately, I failed to check the other zipper that my bag possesses and when I saw what was found inside, I finally got some reliefe after finding my Ipod from inside my bag.

C. Kargo
-I decided to have breakfast in McDonald's-Taft so coming out from the carpool, I was armed with a medium-sized handcarried plastig bag, a big black bag that's as heavy as a big screen TV.  Add to that was my Fotogra folder where I keep some important files and mymega-ton heavy "Book of Photography" which I've been borrowing for 3 weeks now.

Imagine having all of what I'm carrying all the way to SDA!

D. Set Up, Pack Up, Set Up, Pack Up

As early as 8:30 AM, I started setting up equipment I borrowed from the ML-0 of the 10th Floor SDA in one of those photography studios in the 11th floor. I checked if there was someone who already reserved one of the rooms and thank goodness that one of them is good until 11 in the morning. Although I have to go back to another nearby photography studio (A1116) for this week's Fotogra session with Ms Dolly. She just came back from her trip in Camarines Sur with the other photography professors and students; and was showing to the class all the shots she took plus those from one of our classmates who actually tagged along to CamSur as well.

Astonishing as it may sound, I had to resume my photoshoot for my still-life. Jus before 11am, I was already done. I had to leave the stuff there for now so that I could submit something important for Miss Dolly and also asked if I could pass my studio portrait and still-life photos later in the day.

So I had all the equipmnt moved to another room. Quite unsure if it was already reserved, me and my partner decided to have lunch. Early in the afternoon, my partner started setting up the equipment while I was checking CSB's iReserve if someone already saved a spot on the room that we were in. Turns out there was a reservation.

We all had to pack up again but despite this, I finally found the right room that we could use, our classroom A1116. Eventualy, half-an-hour before 3pm, I was finally done with my shots and had all the equipments returned sans the Nikon D70 and a USB port cable I need to transfer my files.

E. Nerderrific!
-The problem though while shooting my partner-model for my studio portrait is that I find it difficult for him to fully grasp the kind of convincing factor to believe that he is a nerd (which is my theme for the shoot). One factor, he doesn't look nerdy at all, second, he's not comfortable with the long sleeved polo shirt I gave him to wear as his costume. So many of he good shots I took of him aren't that much convincing.

F. Stairs and Up

-Then I almost forgot that I also am going to print out my assignment for Profes1 so after finsihing my midterms early for the subject, I quickly went to a comlab and accessed the Profes1 Yahoo Group. I was kinda hoping I could download my ile from the Files section of the group but turns out it's no longer there. I told my prof that I can't find my file, she recommended checking the Sent folder from my Yahoo email account but told her that it was off since the moment I have this email for 6 and a half years.

She finally gave me my file from her email add so I quickly went to the techroom at the 11th floor and had it printed. But the report is 6 pages long so I have to pay for the last three of the six pages. The tech guy told me to go down to the 3rd floor fast to pay for the printing just before they close down for the day. Good thing that I did manage to reach the accounting office as fast as I could.

G. Photocopied

-After getting my printed report, I climbed up the stairs to the 9th floor and went to the xerox center so that I could have my course cards photocopied before submitting it to my academic advisor.

H. The Return

-I had both the D70 and its USB port cable returned finally. So I was more than happy to see my ID again. I left my stuff for some friends to watchover while leaving the building to have my files for studio portrait and still life burned into one CD.

J. The Giving

-Now feeling very tired, I went to the 14th floor to submit my CD for Ms Dolly.  And after that I went to the caf to arrange my things so I could finally go home.

K. Quicktrip

-I made a quicktrip to the 7th floor to renew the book I mentioned a while earlier for another week. I also headed for the 3rd floor's SDA clinic to give myself some strepcil candy.

L. The Road Home

-Finally, I got the chance to go home! As you could sense from G below, I'm already getting sleepy by now after writing this entry for about an hour. But just to wrap this up, I had a hard time commuting because of the extremely heavy load I was carrying from school all the way home. But thank goodness, I could now finally get some rest! :D

The CSB Experience 2: The Big Z and the Big Reveal

The Big Z

At first I thought I was hallucinating when I saw someone awfully familiar stepping inside the classroom where I was in and where he was welcomed by my professor. Then it happened again the week later when it happened again.

Turns out I was right, he's actually the baritone-voiced Joshua Z of 99.5 RT or Zahn Paul Yu in real life.

When news broke out that Sir Henry Bolo was about to leave town, he named Sir Yu as our section's Sondesn prof for the rest of the term. A lot of us were saying a lot of things like:

 "Magaling kaya siya?"

"Mabait siguro siya, 'no?"

"Nagbibigay kaya siya ng one hour break? Ehehehe...

One thing's for sure, all of us in DMA1 are headed into the right direction!

On our first day under Sir Zahn, we pick up where we left off like knowing Sony Soundforge's family of audio editing software programs and friends (Pro Tools, Vegas Pro, Adobe Audition, etc) as well as getting oriented on the fx capabilities of the abovementioned programs. After the half-hour break, we were then directed to do a rendered version of our exisiting sound files we recorded ourselves.

The Big Reveal

The funny thing though is that, just as how Joshua desribed it how small the world really is when he found out, turns out we actually knew each other way back as fellow PEXers from PinoyExchange.com. When I found out that my prof's going to be Joshua, I was really excited because I finally got have the opprotunity to meet one of the "living legends" of FM radio as some would put it.

He shared to me that since RT has grown to become a sort of an institution in radio, people would likely revolt if any aspect of 99.5 is changed. Something that did happen when the owners changed RT into HiT FM then later to Campus 99.5 before reformatting back to RT.

Throughout the duration of the break, we discussed a lot of things radio-related. At first I thought he might laugh at me on how he would react if he finds out I'm j5bata. Turns out, I was wrong. :D

Glad I met the cool dude. He's actually a pretty nice guy on and off-air. Now, I'm pretty much looking forward every week for his Sondesn class!

The CSB Experience 2: Good Luck To Thy Journey

A lot of us were shocked when news broke out that Sir Bolo was leaving the country. He accepted a very promising job in broadcasting in Singapore. That means he had to leave his current job in CSB and leave a lot of the classes under him in limbo. But it looked like he thought of a good plan such an event like would offer.

Last Feb. 23, we were supposed to have our midterms with Mr. Zahn Yu serving as a substitute for Sir Bolo (he was in Singapore that time) but things got awry beyond anyone's control except PGMA's when she turned the 23rd into a national school holiday. Fortunately, the next Monday would serve as our midterms under Sir Bolo while at the same time our last session under him.

Sad but we all have to accept the reality that nothing's permanent in this world. What we ought to do now is support sir's new ventures and hope for the best.

Thanks for the memories sir!

More Than A Year Na Pala...

[Patagu-tago mode...]

Calling out to my four-some look-alike geeks ehehehe.

You're very much of a rebel, a person with a cause.

You somehow managed to pull it through the hardships of being a part of the 'higher ups' with fail but somehow  you were able to make friends with your idols, something I'm always afraid of doing if I have the opportunity. Your take on life always amaze me, your words of encouragement and wisdom never fails to help me when I'm down.

One...two...three...four. Di kapanipaniwala ang mga ginagawa mo. Something of a hobby that became a lifelong passion, a passion shared by many. Despite how busy you must be now, you'd always find a time to count the songs that come out in every chart aired on every medium available. Other than that, we somehow shared a liking towards a network most often underestimated because of its affiliation to a bigger one.

Continue what you've started and you'll go a long long way!

Reality and Dreams: "Ako" Nag-uso ng 'Single Ladies' bago Pa 'To Sumikat!

Waghh! I happened to have a dream about this last night other than "Derailment 2". It was a mix of time-travel and comedic boohoo! I don't know why I'm getting these freaky dreams in the first place...As if me having premonitions are not enough :(

So okay: In my dream, I was time traveling back in the past, maybe around 2-3 years ago. Destiny's Child was by then an obsolete girl group and Beyonce was set to do DreamGirls. I, somehow, had knowledge of the future but was stuck in my pre-college self.

Inside my house, I saw my sister watching Beyonce on TV, who was doing "Oh oh oh oh oh ohoho....Oh oh oh oh oh oh hohoho!". She was kinda amused by the music video because of the silly choreography that the singer is doing. This kinda gave me an idea.

"Ate..."
"Yes..."
"Alam mo ba iyung 'Single Ladies'?"
"Ano 'yun?"
"Bagong kanta ni Beyonce pero di pa eto napapalabas sa TV iyung music video niya"
"Ows?"
"Nakita ko to kaya sa Youtube! Nakakatawa grabeh!"
"Sige nga, ano iyung kanta doon?"
"Oh heto...Pati dance steps pakikita ko sayo!"

All the single ladies, all the single ladies
All the single ladies, all the single ladies
All the single ladies, all the single ladies
All the single ladies

Now put your hands up
Up in the club, we just broke up
I'm doing my own little thing
Decided to dip and now you wanna trip
Cause another brother noticed me

I'm up on him, he up on me
Don't pay him any attention
Just cried my tears, for three good years
Ya can't be mad at me

Cause if you liked it then you should have put a ring on it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Don't be mad once you see that he want it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Oh, oh, oh

If you liked it then you should have put a ring on it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Don't be mad once you see that he want it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it

I got gloss on my lips, a man on my hips
Got me tighter in my Dereon jeans
Acting up, drink in my cup
I can care less what you think

I need no permission, did I mention
Don't pay him any attention
Cause you had your turn and now you gonna learn
What it really feels like to miss me

Cause if you liked it then you should have put a ring on it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Don't be mad once you see that he want it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Oh, oh, oh

If you liked it then you should have put a ring on it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Don't be mad once you see that he want it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Oh, oh, oh

Don't treat me to the things of the world
I'm not that kind of girl
Your love is what I prefer, what I deserve

Here's a man that makes me then takes me
And delivers me to a destiny, to infinity and beyond
Pull me into your arms, say I'm the one you own
If you don't, you'll be alone
And like a ghost Ill be gone

All the single ladies, all the single ladies
All the single ladies, all the single ladies
All the single ladies, all the single ladies
All the single ladies
Now put your hands up, oh, oh, oh

Cause if you liked it then you should have put a ring on it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Don't be mad once you see that he want it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Oh, oh, oh

If you liked it then you should have put a ring on it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Don't be mad once you see that he want it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Oh, oh, oh

The CSB Experience 2: Habang Nakahiga, Nagmumukhang Lumilipad!

Buti walang nakakakita sa'kin na may kakaibang suot. Much more kung walang nakahalata na may suot ako beneath my green-striped shirt I was wearing the whole day! Hehehe!

I was even lucky that not one of the people I know came crashing inside A1114 kung saan ginaganap iyung photoshoot na ginagawa namin ng ka-partner ko. That would have been embarassing, kung hindi man fatal!

I might gonna tell you what I was wearing but definitely I might post some pictures of me modeling for my groupmate's photoshoot (for Portrait that is). Baka may kinabukasan ako bilang modelo, bwahahahaha! (:ehem:)

Ah, basta! Habang nakahiga, nagmumukhang lumilipad!

Reality and Dreams: Derailment 2

I had a dream about this one just last night.

I was riding the LRT going to Vito Cruz while the weather is wee bit stormy. Just before we could reach Doroteo Jose station, a large bolt of thunder came roaring above the train I was riding. It [the train] stopped momentarily then after a few minutes, we finally took a stop the station. Just as the train left, it turned around and headed back towards Monumento Terminal.

The train conductor reason through the intercom that he needs to head the train back to the terminal as he fear for our safety as passengers. The moment he heard thunder roaring like a tiger, he said he knew that he cannot continue with the trip.

DUWAG!

Reality and Dreams: Derailment

A couple of weeks ago, I dreamt I was riding in a jeep on my way home to school. By the time the jeep is somewhere in Gov. Pascual Avenue somewhere near Potrero, i came across a rugged part of the road, drilled and dug out as if there seem to be some sort of ongoing construction.

It was actually, at least in my dream, an ongoing rehabilitation of the PNR's Northrail. In reality, Northrail was supposed to undergo rehabilitation starting with demolition of squatter colonies then later proceed with the rehabilitation proper from Caloocan to Dagupan hopefully.

Bad news  though, it was all a dream. Northrail has yet to undergo such even if they were able to get rid most of the informak settlers more than 2-3 years ago. I wonder what's holding them up?

Vanity at its Finest

When vanity strikes, it gets even...

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Rating:★★★★
Category:Other
So far, I haven't given any of my reviews on books, movies, and television shows a perfect grade of 5 out of 5. This new one won't get one either, but it's still one of the best serials I've seen in a long while.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is the television spin-off of the popular Terminator movie franchise. Although we're not gonna expect Arnold Schwarzenegger nor Linda Hamilton to appear in their respective roles in this series, the series follows an alternative timeline after the events that occured in T2. This would effectively ignore the culmination that was T3 in 2003.

Quick Summary: TTSCC is set in 1999, several years after the events of T2. The Connors are on the run from what they believe as Terminators sent back in time to kill John Connor, the one destined to become mankind's savior. The mother of destiny, tries her earnest to lead a normal life with her son but realized that they cannot lead such because of the impending Judgement Day.

It was when they met a young female-looking Terminator named Cameron Philips that decided to go to the future (present time) to prevent the development of Skynet, thus effectively prevent Judgement Day from ever taking place.

When I learn that there's going to be a television show based on the Terminator series, I know from that point on that I'll be hooked to this series once it airs on local TV. Unfortunately I wasn't able to watch episodes in succession so I'm making up for it by watching season 2 online.

Review Proper:

One thing's for sure, this show kick a$$! I like the dynamic shown by the actors portraying the Connors, John and Sarah, plus Cameron and surprisingly, John's uncle from the future, Derek Reese. They show a kind of family that may not be very typical (read: Brady Bunch) but are always there for each other despite ups and downs.

Drama-wise, this show has a lot of heavy scenes that could almost mistaken TTSCC as a daytime soap opera instead of being a sci fi drama. The pace is slow but not dragging. You have that feeling of dormancy within the show that at any given time it would explode. Just hoping it won't taken them too long during the remaining season 2 episodes to finally spur some active excitement.

In terms of action sequences, they tend to be passive. You have that feeling that you know that there ought to be more than what we're seeing right now. Satisfactory yes but based from a teaser for upcoming episodes, it seems that we, as viewers, are gonna get what we deserve.

Let's go to character development: Summer Glau's scenes are becoming increasingly weird, awkward and comedic all at the same time. There was one episode where she is seen entering John's room, wearing a bikini while walking.

Thomas Dekker shows too much angst as young John Connor. He's too much of an idiotic, disobedient boy. Unlike his counterpart in T3, this John so wants to embrace his destiny but not in a very logical way. Good thing he has one tough mom in the form of Sarah Connor, played by Lena Headey.

I'm all praises for Lena. She does an amazing job doing much justice to the role popularized by Linda Hamilton. She may not be able to fuse the same kind of energy that Linda Hamilton gave to the role, she was able to put little but of something from herself that makes TTSCC so much of a guilty pleasure as a whole.

Another guilty pleasure is the presence of seaosn 2 villainess, Catherine Weaver (2.0), portrayed by Shirley Manson. Her character is not exactly Catherine Weaver, but a Terminator T-1001 pretending to be like her (much like the antagonist in T3). She is quick with her wit, beautiful yet dangerous. One recent episode prove that she's a deadly vixen. One funny scene though was her shape-shifting into a men's urinal before killing off a guy about to pee into what he thought as a...urinal.

The idea of time-traveling shouldn't be expanded with the concept of alternate realities being given too much emphasis. IMHO, this would gravely affect the storytelling of the series as well compromising viewer interest due to the unnecessary confusion.

I'm hoping that there's going to be a season 3 since I'm curious if in the end they're going to finally provide a road towards T4: Salvation or stand out and do something fans of the franchise may not expect (like being able to thwart Judgement Day completely and successfully prevented the very existence of Skynet).

Here's the spoiler of upcoming episodes of TTSCC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ya6ehFwbS4o
and a photo of Cameron wearing a bikini on what could be a very awkward moment: http://i43.tinypic.com/iqm1xi.jpg

The CSB Experience 2: Whenever You're Left Alone...Eating

Whenever you're left all alone,
there's a way back to home,
it's time to think the family through.
They have been waiting for you
to open the door
As you come home...

I just realized that in less than a few weeks from now, it's going to be The J-Blog Files' second anniversary! Nice!

After more than several weeks eating lunch in CSB Main, looks like I got the hang of it too much. Why? I DON'T KNOW!

Yesterday, I was, for the first time in weeks, to eat lunch in SDA. I wanted to eat somewhere else but some stuff prevented me to do so. No choice but to consume a very expensive lunch at the SDA Caf.

As always, I was trying to look for an available table because there was one helluva crowd occupying a lot of the seats in groups. Thank goodness I did found one.

I prefer eating alone since I don't see the need to eat along with a group. Maybe if you have a barkada that you're identified with, yes but in my case I don't. I make friends but never join in barkadas so I roam around campus, being me. :))

Meanwhile, so I was in my table eating, thinking a lot of things inside my mind. I then left my table to get a glass of water. at the nearby fountain. After filling it up with water, I drank it and went back to my table. What's weird is that I brought the empty glass with me!

Supposedly, I was to have it filled with water then bring it to my table before I coud have the chance to drink its contents.

What really sucks was that after eating, out-of-nowhere, I suddenly brought my plate and threw away whatever its contents was into one of the three trashcans found there for no apparent reason behind it. Then I had this urge to place the plate above one of the trash cans, I don't know!

That's when I realized I was doing what I always do whenever I eat lunch at Main: I drink a glass of water coming from the fountain and would always leave it there along with the other used glasses, after eating I would throw the left-overs at the nearby trashcans and leave the plate on a place where the maintenance crew would get it and have it washed. That's my regular routine. In SDA< I could have just left it at my table because surely it's goin to be picked up by the service crew anyway.

Maybe, I missed eating in Main even it was for one day. Maybe, I hate eating inside the SDA Caf that I grew to become oblivious with the culture happening over there.

In the end, I wanna ask myself: "How and why and what are these things for?"

J Pics D40 Pics: Malikot na Daliri

All taken last Sunday.

Went to Philamlife Auditorium to watch Albert's and, surprisinglly, Fred's piano recital. Many are surprisingly good, even the younger ones.

Didn't get to watch Fred's performance though since it was getting late.

Mostly point and shoot (auto). Majority has ISO 200, some has ISO 800. A few are set in Manual Mode. Aperture is fluctuating so it's hard to get the best light.
