I was eating lunch last Saturday with some buds and one of them was utterly surprised to see a senior we all know and love. I looked around but can't who was he referring to. I looked around a second time, and my jaw dropped. When I saw him, he looks like a....frosh?
"Wow! Anong ginawa mo?"

The CSB Experience 2: A Model for a Day
After Fotogra class, I continued on with my photoshoot for shallow depth of field at the 11th floor SDA when two guys approached me. They asked if I'm interested on being a model for their photoshoot for a magazine. Since, I have all the time to do my other stuff fo C-Break, I gave it a go.
We went to the SDA Parking Area where the first thing they did was to have me sit on a balck cartolina laid out on the floor (Note: Mezzanine Floor). They said that if I have my own I-Pod, I could have them worn by me and pretend to be emo-like (which I did).
I couldn't get into the emotion thus I thought of playing a very sad song in my I-Pod playlist: Sting's "Shape of My Heart". It worked and I was feeling emo all the way of the first shoot. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that they also brought along another student they invited to be a part of this.
Afterwards, it's back to the 11th floor we go. Right next to my Fotogra classroom (A1106) is another one, although a bigger one and multi-purpose as a photography studio. When it wa my turn for the shoot, they made me sit on this chair with lights placed on my left and on my right. Thet flash when the camera the guys were using had its shuter-release button pressed. They took a lot of shots of me doing very emotionally-expressive poses (on the face!).
Then when it's all said and done, I got a good look on their shots of me and was pretty amazed, and speechless. The execution of the pictures were artistically well-done. I was even speechless on what I looked like on these pictures. Every single pic taken on me showed lots of expressions of torment, sadness, torture, and depression.
I actually can't wait for them to be published, just hoping I could get my hands on that magazine of theirs here on school.
Ang saya!

The CSB Experience 2: A Photographer's First Rolling Mistake
Wagghhh! I made a mistake! I'm sorry but it's all too late! (Wait, parang nag-rhyme bigla?).
For today's Fotogra, we were to exercise shallow depth of field (Aperture f/2.8 to f/1.8) and as well as recording data via bracketing. I was almost doing fine until sometime past noon. I finished all 24 rolls of film using my borrowed Nikon FM3a (not "FM3" as previously thought).
But when I was about to have the film roll "de-roll" using the film rewind knob, I forgot the simplest thing: push that metal button found below he cam so that whatever's holding the film could release it. Releasing it would help me rewind the film back into its crypt.
Unfortunately, forgotting that little detail came out disastrous effects: the film was pulled out of its container instead of the container pulling it in.And because it is out, it'd be difficult to put it back without exposing the film. In short, I was screwed. No choice but to have the entire film exposed in order to get it out from the FM3a.
One good news, I could still borrow the FM3a on Saturday right before my 9am class on that day. But i would also mean, missing the finale episode of my wide-followed telenovela on Studio 23. Waghh!

The CSB Experience 2: A SHRIM-pymazing Race
Isa sa kanila ang sumigaw "OVER THERE!!" tapos bigla sabay nagsitakbuhan patungong Solomon Hall. Buti naka-iwas ako sa stampede nila.
Weird :D

The CSB Experience 2: A Rough Draft I Made for An 8-Week NSTP Program
I wanna share to you guys a rough draft I made for my NSTP2. It's for an 8-week immersion in Baseco Compound in Tondo, Manila wherein we're going to teach kids ages 6-14, 3 hours per week. So far I managed to finish 2 weeks worth out of the required eight week plan. It's not yet final since I'm still brainstorming for more ideas. Suggestions are warmly welcome. :D
I. Week 1
a. Activity-Getting to Know Each Other (Objectives written below)
b. Preparatory Tasks (Before the Activity)
c. Division of Tasks *In case of unexpected developments, one of us would fill in for someone not available.
i. Documentarian (2)
ii. In-charge of Food and refreshments (2)
iii. Orientors (4)
d. Materials Needed
i. Cartolina
ii. Pentel Pen (permanent)
iii. Whiteboard marker/Chalk
iv. Manila Paper
e. Budget Allocated
i. Php 800 (Estimate)
f. Expected Output
i. Not only do the students got to know us better and that a sense of closeness was establish earlier on, we expect that the students have their total trust on us and thus returning for another session the following week.
II. Week 2
a. Activity 2-Introduction to Writing
i. Considering that we are teaching kids whose ages ranged from 6 to 14, it will be hard for younger kids to cope up to the lessons being taught to them compared to those who are older.
ii. It might be okay for us to teach them basic phonics to the younger kids while having older ones help us as aids. This would help them value the essence of group unity, coordination and cooperation.
iii. But in the case that many are already capable of writing and reading, we’re going to have a writing activity wherein we let the students write essays and have them read before the entire class.
b. Preparatory Tasks
i. Prepare small notebooks/writing pads, pencils, erasers and other necessary writing materials.
ii. We will also implement a “rewards” system to help encourage students on doing their essays. They’ll be given a “reward” for having their essays read aloud before the class. These “rewards” are candies and chocolates.
c. Division of Tasks
i. Teacher
ii. In-charge of Foods and Drinks
iii. In-charge of Candies and Sweets (to be used for activity)
iv. Documentarian
v. Teacher’s Aide
d. Materials Needed
i. Notebook/Writing Pads
ii. Pencils (Sharpened)
iii. Sharpeners (Two-three)
e. Budget Allocated
i. Php800 (Estimate)
1. To be used for buying of writing materials, foods and drinks (sandwich and zesto).
f. Expected Output
i. It is expected that they will be able to develop not only their writing skills but also their self-esteem as well. Self-esteem is needed to fully express a person’s feelings through writing

Fun Run 1
The CSB Experience 2: Why Must It Always Be Me?! Waghh!
The nightmare of virtual inanimosity returns to strike back at me for the nth time! I can't believe the overwhelming trust given to me by my Profes1 classmates, most which I barely even know. I was voted ***gulp*** "president" of the "republic" to help lead my constituent towards a fair and better world.
I have leadership issues, ranging back during frosh year. I still vividly remember Ferdie pointing at me, telling Sir Aldwin "Gepsych/Intecom" Sanchez that I'm the block president. I denied his allegation but the whole block agreed that I should lead the class. It came at the wrong time since for most of our first term in CSB, I was too pre-occupied with a lot of stuff, which made so much of a workaholic. Me being a busybody equates me being cranky and overly stressed out. Grrr....
I wonder how I would fare this time, considering that I had foregone some excess weight in the past. I don't know if I have the qualifications of a good leader, knowing I was much of a slave and a control-freak than a chief executive.
The control-freak in me still lies within. Unfortunately, for a weekly three-hour class, I no longer foresee a recurring of past events which eventually reached its peak when I fatally created my own one-entry version of "The Vicious Circle" (if you're a regular viewer of 90210, you would know).
Pray for me :(

The CSB Experience 2: Not the Answer
I'm not gonna mention her name but she shared something with me. I'm not gonna tell anything much but I'm merely gonna say my two cent's worth of she's going through.
I completely understand her situation. People close to her are oblivious to what she's going through. She's stressed out not because of her studies but to something else. Because of it, she's doing something to cope with her complete distraught towards it. She herself confessed to me that she doing something to discontinue once and for all.
Okay, that's as far as I can go so here's what's on my mind:
I wish her the best for her bold endeavors!

The CSB Experience 2: Badly Tripped
Fast Notes: 1)Surprised to see that a lot of people took great notice to the banner change. Wanna thank the 7 people (and counting) who viewed the page. :D, 2)Within three months or less, I'll be compiling the pictures taken during the mini-fair and turn them into a possible slideshow movie. I already have some interesting soundtracks in mind which I wanna incorporate into the movie :D, 3)Advance congratulations to the newly-elected and soon-to-be inaugurated 44th president of the United States of America, Barack Obama. May the force be with (and also with you) :D.

The CSB Experience 2: Attack of the Clones inside the SDA Elevator
The first two lines were long and the elevators they were waiting for are somewhere between the 5th and 12th floors going up. The third line was long as well, but t'was shortened by the elevator which was already at the bottom floor. I chose to line up along the third one since the probability of getting in faster is greater than the other two lines whose elevators have yet to come down.
More on that on a later entry, I wanna share to you this incident happened whule I was on my way up to the 11th floor inside the elevator. I was at the very back, enabling me to see people who are coming in and out from where I am now (I wanna say 'elevator' but it's getting redundant in this paragraph).
When the elevator tooked a stop at the 7th floor, I saw two familiar figures. One of them, a girl, was wearing a checkered red-and-black polo shirt with long sleeves that got tucked in. At first, I thought she was Alyssa. Another one, a girl too, possesses a short hairdo with her hair dyed on a different color, thinking initially that she's Alex.
I took another good look at the two and realized that it's not them. Knowing Alyssa and Alex, I know Alyssa won't dare wear black booths and that Alex doesn't wear high heels and a long skirt unless mandated by law (go figure).

Subject: A SOCIAL EXPERIMENT (Perceptions, Taste, and Priorities)
Enjoy!
Here is a story shared to me by Fr. Eliseo "Jun" Mercado, OMI.
A man sat at a metro station in Washington DC and started to play the
violin; it was a cold January morning. He played six Bach pieces for
about 45 minutes. During that time, since it was rush hour, it was
calculated that thousands of people went through the station, most of
them on their way to
work.
Three minutes went by and a middle aged man noticed there was a
musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds
and then hurried up to meet his schedule.
A minute later, the violinist received his first dollar tip: a woman
threw the money in the till and without stopping continued to
walk.
A few minutes later, someone leaned against the wall to listen to
him, but the man looked at his watch and started to walk again.
Clearly he was late for work.
The one who paid the most attention was a 3 year old boy. His mother
tagged him along, hurried but the kid stopped to look at the
violinist. Finally the mother pushed hard and the child continued to
walk turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by
several other children. All the parents, without exception, forced
them to move on.
In the 45 minutes the musician played, only 6 people stopped and
stayed for a while. About 20 gave him money but continued to walk
their normal pace. He collected $32. When he finished playing and
silence took over, no one noticed it. No one applauded, nor was there
any recognition.
No one knew this but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the best
musicians in the world. He played one of the most intricate pieces
ever written with a violin worth 3.5 million dollars.
Two days before his playing in the subway, Joshua Bell sold out at a
theater in Boston and the seats average $100.00 each.
This is a real story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro
station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social
experiment about perception, taste and priorities of people. The
outlines were: in a commonplace environment at an inappropriate hour:
Do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize
the talent in an unexpected context?
One of the possible conclusions from this experience could
be:
If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best
musicians in the world playing some of the best music ever written,
how many other things are we missing?

their normal pace.

SOSYAL!
Nuqui doon. Heto nangyari:

Senpai Bad
I always thought senpais as those who are proven to be good role models to people younger than him. Being a role model means encouraging others to emulate the good examples he or she has shown to them. It's the same way on how I look up to my mentor who ahve taught me everything despite being under his wing for only a year.
Even if he's a little strict, I look up to him as my idol. I admire his continued perseverance on instilling discipline to his students in both mind and body. Even if training under him means loads of pain in our backs, limbs, legs, and foot, we know that it's for us to better improve on our stances, our forms, and our determination.
But my perspective of him as a good role model changed when I saw, more than a year later. I saw him when I was on my way home from school. He was making tambay near the now-defunct Padi's Point in Caloocan, smoking.
I know I should let people do things that they wanna do and there's nothing that I could do to stop them but, seeing him like that: depressed, lonely, troubled, and sloppy; he's not the energetic, youthful, happy-yet-serious guy I used to know and admire. It all disappeared the moment I saw him puffing out a smoke coming out from that cancer stick (no offense meant on those I might be hitting on).
Walking towards him, I greeted him and asked on what's he's up to lately. He told me that other than just being an instructor, he also works as a call center agent for a company. He being a member of tech support is giving him a hard time balancing his other job, him being an instructor. He then threw the question back at me, asking what I've been up to. I told him, I failed to get into varsity and thus discontinued my goal on doing so in order to focus more on my studies which is increasingly eating up a lot of my time.
Afterwards, he said I should strive further and hopefully something good will come out of it. Not soon after, I bade him goodbye and went on my way, leaving him there and puffing smoke from that potentially-fatal cigarette.
I gave what happened some thought. I should cut him some slack, knowing that he's not a perfect person. He also have his own set of problems that in order to cope with them is to lit up a smoke, possibly one of his means to cope with all the stress coming from him. But then again, what he's doing is a total contradiction on the lessons he tries to instill unto me and his students, discipline to both mind and body, even he's an assistant instructor.
Wishing the best for him though.
I sure do miss taekwondo so much. Maybe I should pay them a visit one of these days!
Pabunot for 2 Pesos
This year however was different, at least for some. My youngest brother, a senior, thought of this as his final time to celebrate the Mini-Fair as a student of St. James Academy. In less than 3 months, he'll be walking down the aisle to get his high school diploma, finally ending his tenure in the school as he graduates.
5
For me, this was the second time I went to the Mini-Fair as an alumnus of the school. Whenever I go there, I would always see the same set of people I've so used to see when I was still a student. My old teachers (albeit the fact that one-by-one they're all leaving), my friends from the younger years (albeit the fact that year-by-year they graduate), and my old hangout places (albeit the fact that as time passes by, old structures are replaced by newer once, like the old big tree and the old playhouse of the kindergarten students near the Gate 3).
Last Thursday, I already have a gut feeling that certain people that I know are coming to the fair so I decided that I should go there as well. Once there, I saw Jeco (sporting Vic Zhou-like hair), Mark (still tall), Ria (sporting diva-esque long straight hair), Dianne N. (budding architect-in-the-making), the "twins" Anna Ruth and Criezl a.k.a. Paloma, Ali who came all the way from CSB as proven by his required observance of the SHRIM dress code, and Eswhy/Ellysa (had her hair coloured). Also there was a seemingly slimmer Mr. Rivera, and a "glowing" Mr. Macam. Meanwhile Mr. Robino is still the "secluded aktibista-like self" that he is while overseeing the general populace from the faculty room, among others.
Booths present were the "buttons" booth, the "pabunot" booth, the countless food-and-drinks booths, the fun-and-games booth, the notorious Hulidap booth, and the popular message/dedication booth a.k.a. 103.9 DSJA-FM/ 103.9 SJA Radio with Mr. Louie Odulio as its station manager. Rides incllude the box carousel, the "couples" carousel, and the dinosaur ride.
That day, I was able to take a whopping 380+ pics (including the not-so good ones) using my Digital San Lorenzo Ruiz/Single Lens Reflex camera. As usual, I'm not present in any of the pcs taken by me but fortunately, Jeco took several pics of me candidly and recent had them posted on Multiply.
The next day, the last day (a Friday which is today hehehe), I did not intend on coming back to the fair but Louie (Mary Louise not Elka) texted me if I'm going. I was to reply her back, saying about my intention not to come but unfortunately I ran out of cellphone load. That same day, I was to go to Quiapo to have my negatives made into contact prints for my Fotogra. While there, it was then I thought that I should come to the fair in case my cousin decided to come there as well (her class in EAC ends in the afternoon).
It was only when I was in Bayan have I been successful on loading my phone to text Louie and tell her I'm going. Inside, a lot more alumni from not only my batch but also from batch 08 and those below Batch 07 were present.
Among from my batch who came today were Mark (again), Paolo Catalo, Dharyl (Patama ng pangalan please), Elka, Bebe (her birthday is today), Sandhee, Ace, rock vixen Yssa, Kriel, Renz, Gabo, Cyrene, Martin (whom I almost didn't recoginze due to him not wearing glasses and sporting emo-like hair) and Piton.
-------
Off-campus, I chanced on seeing Tope near Araneta Square who was also on his to SJA, fresh from his last class in UST. Last Thursday A non-Jamer but former fellow ka-Taekwondo, Jaydee (HS grad of Notre Dame of Greater Manila and now attending FEU) saw me while waiting for a jeepney ride en route to Valenzuela/Caloocan in Concepcion. I didn't recognize his face at first but when I took a good look at him, I realized that it was him. Meanwhile, a week ago (a Saturday), I saw Batch 08 member Paolo Gozon who was on his way home I'm guessing. He's wearing a Letran uniform so I assume that he came from school. He was present at Friday's final hoorah for the Mini-Fair.
--------------
I'm looking forward for next year's Mini-Fair. And hopefully, by that time, there's still going to be one.

Cute Guy Alert!
The CSB Experience 2: Less than 46-Hour Sessions
My prof in Fotogra recently sent me and my classmates an email containing a copy of her course syllabus. Hardcore as it seems, I should expect that something like this would happen and it did. As I read the syllabus carefully, it says there about the different things the class is expected to do for the remaining weeks of our 14-week term.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
FOTOGRA introduces the concepts and the body of knowledge that forms the foundation for the professional practice of photography. This course lays the groundwork for a study and/or career in the field of photography and in the field of multi-media arts, wherein lessons learned in the classroom can be utilized. This introductory course is designed for students who have little or no knowledge of photography, but are willing to learn its concepts and theoretical foundations. These concepts are integrated with the other major subjects of the course.
Over the centuries from the time of its invention, Photography has served many purposes. From creating and capturing landscapes and portraits of people in the 19th century, to documenting and reporting every life, wars and other historical events, to being a potent tool of social reform; Photography has been widely used in fashion and advertising business. At the turn of the 21st century, with the advent of electronic media, the demand for photographic images for website development has widely increased.
Currently, there is a greater need for art students who wish to embark on future careers in multi-media art to learn how to crate photographic images. It is for this purpose that this course is offered as a basic requirement to higher courses in the study of and training in multi-media arts.
The course will focus mainly on the technical aspect of photography, which specifically includes control of exposure and depth of field, along with creative aspect of exploration into composition, stylistic approach, and the use of artificial and natural light, with the Single Lens Reflex (SLR) manual camera as the primary tool then later gradually into digital camera. Students are given research assignments and Lectures as foundational theories prior to actual indoor and outdoor photo shoots.
COURSE OBJECTIVES/VALUES:
At the end of the course, the students should be able to understand the basic principles of photography. They are also expected to produce film-based photographs showing proficiency in the proper and creative recording of images, the application of depth-of-field and the use of on-camera and studio lighting systems. And such knowledge should raise the level of the students’ sensitivity towards the environment, and propel them to see beyond the obvious and must relate this experience to the viewer of their photographic work.

The latter part of the course covers the aesthetic part of photography. After being adept in using the camera, the students are taught on how to use it creatively, being multi-media students, they would be able to apply what they have learned in other courses as well.
GOOD LUCK SA MGA KUMUKUHA NITO! (Searching for his old Natsca notes)

The CSB Experience 2: Aperture
I'm so happy! I finally learned the basics with regards to handling an old SLR camera, a Nikon FM3. I bought last Saturday two rolls of film, each composed of 24 shots with ISO100.
First photoshoot of the week: Correct exposure. Mrs. Ofrasio taught us about the functions of the FM3, and how to use it. We had the film speed set to 1/125 sec. and the ISO to 100. Using the viewfinder I could see at the side a bar bearing the film speed markers, a blue bar highlighting the current film speed used, and a black bar is the the aperture thing that is needed to set according to the film speed.
Half-pressing the shutter-release button as well as moving the aperture ring, I could adjust the black bar and place it on or near the designated film speed. For about an hour, I only took 13 out of 24 available shots. I had the worst luck of rewinding the film up to the point I forgot not to let inside the very tip of the film. Aww, schucks!
Not to worry hehehe. Sometime this week, I'm gonna go to Quiapo and make contact prints out of the 13 shots I made. :D

The CSB Experience 2: Wise Draftsman's Land of Wigs at the Edge of Night
One by one, randomly he had each of us stand in front of the class and let them give out their first impressions about the person standing. In my case (redundant!), 1st impressions about me ranges from "smart" to "shy" to "smart" and "friendly" and "smart". Sabi ko na nga ba!
After dismissal, I waited for about an hour before my last class would commence, a 6-9pm class called "Techincal Drawing" which is known to some schools as "Drafting". My prof's may seem to be a "oh-it's-one-of-those-boring-teachers" but after knowing that he's been in the teaching profession for seven years, then I expect that we in class would learn from him.
Before I go to sleep (I have classes at 9 in the morning the next day), I have some fast notes to share:
1. Bobby told me Anton had transferred from CSB to the Philippine School of Interior Design in Makati.
2. Hoogie's hair is back to its DV1 1st term clean cut hair style.
3. Jiko's back pala from abroad. Saw him earlier at the lobby and later in the SDA caf.
4. Rex's my classmate for Desncon
5. Inna and Aje are my classmates for NSTPCWS
6. Franzi's my colleague once again in the same room, same day but different subject called Deskpub.
7. I mistook Gilbert's hair a while ago as a wig. No offense though, gulat lang ako. Peace!
8. Carlo, Aje, Alex, and Katriz are my Techdrw pals.
9. Looks like Main's 1st Floor Benilde Hall is in for a slight face lift in and out (Backgate doing renovations, 'No Smoking Area' upuan place is now gone, and entrance to Main Caf is getting fresh cement).
10. Raymond's hair is back to its DV1 1st term hairdo. :D
BTW, watch this clip, sobrang laughtrip (warning: Fil-Am adult cartoon that's meant to be watched by mature people): The Nutshack!

The CSB Experience 2: The Second Third Third Day FOR LIFE!
First class of the day would be Sondesn (Sound-Dess). I know for a fact that we're going to have class inside a recording studio, the question is: Where? My EAF tells me that my class is in A1014, located in-between 1004 and 1015, both computer laboratories. My prof's name was listed as "Henry Bolo". Nothing out of the ordinary really, but I noticed that he bears a very thick American accent (not konyo) whenever he speaks English but at the same time, a very fluent and eloquent use of the National Language . Basing from those observations I could tell that he really is from the business.
But other than that, there's something more to it. Turns out, he's also a (seemingly now former) DJ of WRR 101.9 For Life, a masa station that is now known for its present name "Alam Mo Na Yan! 101.9 For Life", with the call letters being dropped from the name (Laking WRR kaya alam ko ito hehehe). Prior to his stint to WRR, his used to work for Advance Media Systems (DWKX/103.5 k-Lite, now 103 1/2 Max FM) and Quest Broadcasting, Inc. (DWTM/Magic 89.9). Now I know that me and my classmates are truly on a roll! Looking forward what I'm going to be taught about with regards to audio mixing, mastering, recording, and voice acting (clearly a far cry to his happy-go-lucky persona in WRR). All of a sudden I felt kinda repetitive.
Following Sondesn, I have Desncon (Desk-Con) or Design Concepts. It's a follow up to my previous prerequisite (Desprin/Principles of Design) but this are more focused not just in theories and concepts per say but also interpreting such that are found in design. My prof is a graduate of CSB's former Interdisciplinary Studies Program (Don't know if it has a present counterpart today). She, thoughnew in teaching in CSB, is all too familiar to life as a CSB student. Our room, A701, is the largest of all the classrooms in SDA's 7th floor. She stressed that her subject may be 90% discussion, ten percent would come from doing plates as it's required for the subject.
Our first activity was to design a movie poster on a piece of paper and explain why people should watch this particular type of movie via several graphic organizers like planning charts and spider webs. Fortunately, I happened to watch a good old-house horror movie the night before, an Italian pre-apocalyptic film called "Demonii" or "Demons" in English. It's about a group of people who were mysteriously invited to watch a screening of a movie inside a supposedly new theater. But unknown to them, they are turned into demons one by one and the few remaining survivors must find a way to escape before they get infected and turn into one.
Note though that this is no B-movie zombie flick because they are not dead before reanimating into zombies, the wounds inflicted by demons would turn them into one. This is of course was given no clear explanation, but its primary cause was that the first human that turned into one wore this certain mask that has the ability to break hell loose. It has a somewhat happy ending nevertheless.
I hope my last two professors tomorrow would be as nice as the one I have as of now.

M.M.K.~May Magagawa Ka!
Isa itong reality job-search with a twist.
Sana pagkatiwalaan man lang niya ako.

Batang Sumbungera/Snitch
This one came from the same comic book collection about people in their awkward teenage years. It's about a b*tchy snitch and the irony of being one:
Once, there's this girl in class who was trying to mind her business when a guy bully was making fun of her, calling her names and stuff that irrates her. After class, she told her teacher that she's being making fun at by the boy so the teacher scolded him. The guy became angry and told to his buddies that he was snitched by a "b*tch".
Now, the girl was in the hallway and felt that she's being followed by the guy's friends. They did, but when they were able to caught her up, one of them scolded the girl, telling her never be a snitch ever. After that they left.
At recess, she saw a friend of hers on the hallway and came with her outside. They went inside one of the fuzzy bushes in school grounds where they each light a cigarette and smoked. The girl suddenly wondered that for the longest time that they've been smoking on that place for a long time the school still haven't found out about it.
Her friend suddenly saw her barkada (who are kabarkadas to the guy bullying her) and went on her way. But the girl insisted on coming with her, saying she doesn't want to be alone so her friend tagged her along. The gang were hanging out on one side of the school building's wall, and when they saw the girl, they were b*tchy towards her.
A mean girl within the group was extra-b*tchy to the poor girl, comparing themselves as characters from a teen show called "Beverly Hills 90210". The mean girl compared herself to "Kelly", a character in the show, and the poor girl to "Brenda", another character who was known for the controversial departure of its portrayer, Shannen Doherty, thus "Brenda" was written off the show pretty much the way they want the poor girl to go away from their group.
Then the guy who bullied the girl from earlier said to the mean girl that what she said was mean. He advised the poor girl to leave, citing "this place is no place for someone like you".
Disappointed, she went on her way and made tambay with another set of her smoking "friends". But before they could light up a smoke, they checked if there are no adults within the premises or else they dead! One of the puffy smoker girls complained about the girl's friend who was being b*tchy to her. Her reason: The puffy smoker girl felt like the girl's friend's beau is using her as back up that's why he broke up with her and went on to the friend.
Skipping some parts, one of the guy's buds run towards the smoking girls and told them that the guy and one of his buds are fighting each other. They asked why and the boy said that the guy's friend snitched behind his back and is now threatening him on snitching him back.
And now, the irony is that, after hearing that the guy he snitched was snitched and is snitching back, she has this to say "Why would people snitch?".

Batang Makulit
I read this humongous book containing comic-strip-inspired illustrations about teenage kids. And I found this one comic strip ironically true in real life.
There's this kid wearing glasses who was riding a bike with his best friend. As they bike along the neighborhood, the kid saw a little boy he met once. The little boy asked if he wanna play a game of baseball with him but the kid refused and left the poor little boy on his own.
At home, the kid and the best friend went inside and was greeted by the kid's grandmother who bought a stack of old comicbooks from the nearby flea-market. The kid became angry to her grandma seeing that the comicbooks are badly disorganized and aren't in the right order. His grandma tried to apologized but the kid continually yelled at her up to the point that the grandmother asked her daughter (the kid's mom) for her medicine.
The kid decided he could at least have the comicbooks re-organized by himself seeing that he's able to read its page numbers and the order of its publishing date. He tried to thank his grandma but what she said in reply was "Go to hell...". Apparently disappointed by the uttered disrespect given to her by her grandson.
Meanwhile, the kid boasted in front of his best friend saying he has this large collection of comicbooks in his room and he, the best friend, will be the first person to see it. But as the kid opens his room, he was shocked to find that all of his comicbooks were all gone.
He had another set of tantrums, demanding to know from his mom why his collection of comicbooks disappeared. She said that his comics were all scattered in the room and were thought to be trash so she had them al thrown inside the garbage can. Hurriedly, he went outside to check on the garbage can sitting in front of their houses, only to find nothing.
With another bout of tantrums, the kid threw a fit and tore his house apart to look for his missing comicbooks. He searched everywhere except for his mom's room but was prevented by no less but his mom. That was when the kid, now angrier than ever, concluded that his mom took his collection of comicbooks away from him and had them all hid inside her room.
The kid's already pissed off grandmother came to help her daughter bring her bad-mouthing grandson downstairs and threw him out of the house to think of the damaged he caused. It was then that he decided to run away and hopped on his bestfriend's bicycle and drove away.
END
Oh man, do have I seen people who are actually like that! So childish and immature!

Reality and Dreams: Recurring
I was listening to this late night program last night before I went to sleep. The host's topic for the day was about "recurring dreams". Recurring dreams are dreams which occurs/seemingly repeated in your sleep.
Curious, I decided to tune in for at least an hour and a half to know about this particular type of dreams. The DJ stressed that certain details in a dream are representations and/or manifestation of our personalities, our fears, our childhood nightmares, our anxieties and the like. it has something to do with our ids, which (being our conscience deep within) try to tell us something through the things we see in our dreams. They continue to appear until we are able to fully understand what they meant to us.
There's this one dream that occurred to me more than twice but it happened once a year. I dreamt that I was in a resort (more likely Grotto Vista). It wasn't no coincidence knowing that I was really excited for the annual family trip to a resort the following day.
The DJ said that the presence of water in a dream represents our fears, inhibitions, and long forgotten memories that try to resurface via dreams. Indeed, if you are in a state that you are aware of what you're dreaming about even if you're in sleep mode, you may be able to observe themes, objects, and other manifestations that continually appear in every dream you have.
I wonder if he could provide an explanation as to why some people have premonitions in their dreams like me.

The CSB Experience 2: The Second Third First Day
I know that January 7, everything will be back to normal. Yestersay was the first day of the third term so I know I have to do my best without fail!
My first class is Fotogra or Fundamentals of Photography. My professor for that class is Mrs. Dolly Ofrasio, Yana's mom. She was late by half an hour due to a chaotic crowd downstairs at the lobby of SDA. In addition, my classmates include those I've been with in several past classes (from Worlite, Partdes, Petriid, and Reconse).
I know for sure that Fotogra is going to be a very hard subject but I have to make sure that I won't fail. My professor said if ever any of us in her class wants to drop out from her subject, the flash function of a camera would do the job for us, as easy as that! But then again, we get to use some cool retro "Singular Lens Reflex" like those rare and vintage Nikon FM2's and FM3's (but we have to take good care of it when used),
My second and last class for the day was Profes1/Professional Practice 1. My prof's there is the chairperson of the Interior Design program of CSB, Ms. Love (She was born on Valentine's Day hehehe). There, I ' classmateas again with similar faces from my Hartds1 class like Hyun Ho, and NSTP1 (Angelica Punto and Nem); Joseriz (Kervin, and Danica).
Since all of us are suffering from FDS, it may take a while before we could easily adjust to the new term.
What has the term in store? Are we going to survive? Better to face it than not face it!
(Note: Inaantok pa rin ako, wala akong pasok mula Huwebes hanggang bukas so bakasyon uli sakin :D)

Unsent Letter
While cleaning up some things found on my drawer, I chanced upon finding an old Harry Potter-branded envelope with a sticker-picture of me used as a closing for its lid. The letter, in fact, was an old letter I wrote for a friend of mine who lives overseas a few years ago. However, it was left unsent after failing to do so (despite having known that I could have my mom sent it for me in the post office near hers). Instead it was left hidden among my other unused things tucked away inside that decade-old plastic drawer of mine.
We lost communication after a rudely abrupt overseas call back in 2003 and a silently lost connection through Facebook early a year ago.
I may have found him in some other web domain but everything's still not crystal clear as of now.
I rather not read this letter because I guess I said what I wanna say to him that time and reading it myself may lose the reason why I wrote a letter to him in the first place.
That time, I was still feeling a little bit homesick. I've had in the past sent letters to my friends abroad (back in the time, most of them don't have their own email addresses while MySpace and Facebook are yet to become a global phenomena). I've sent him at least one letter, but after the abrupt phone call (because I ran out of load), I immediately wrote a letter to him apologizing for what happened (basically that's what was written in the leter anyway so I didn't bother reading it now).
We had this firm friendship, because maybe of us being the only Asians in class who also happens to be neighbors next door, it gave us a sense of belonging amidst the differences in our personalities. He's a warfreak, i'm a pacifist; he's loves soccer, I was about to love soccer; He likes white shirts, I like green shirts. In addition, he pretty much reminds me of an old friend of mine who happens to be half-Japanese, half-Filipino. Thus the reason I managed to get along with his rough kind of attitude.
Nowadays, I could still see the very same of personality he posseses to a certain some one I know, not just in physical appearance, but also in his "maangas" kind of traits.

Where Evil Lurks
Turns out, siya nga!

Reunion Upon Arrival
It wasn't long after I came home back in June 24, 2002 that I decided to visit Gerard Alegrid in his home found on a block right next to ours. I still felt a bit jetlagged after more than a days worth of traveling halfway around the world and been out of the country for a year and 2 months.
Right in front of their gate, I was calling Gerard's name. Thank heavens, he's at home (the new school year had already started that time but I was freshed out from finishing Grade 5 weeks earlier). He was startled to see me, just as how I was surprised to see him, with thick hair!
He let me inside their house and get reacquainted. I found out he's in his final year in grade school attending Saint Mary Montessori, my now-former school of seven years. Many of our batchmates transferred to other schools like, St. Jude Academy-Malinta, Children of Mary Immaculate College, San Diego Parochial School, Notre Dame of Greater Manila, and the list goes on.
I asked him if he still knows Angelique's phone number at home, I was really excited hearing her voice again. He does and dialled her number for me. trhough the phone, I let her know that I finally came home!
----
A few days later, I was in my room (then sharing with my brothers) doing nothing (because the house just went through a recent renovation). I heard someone calling out someone's name outside, but I didn't bother see who it is. But the name-calling continued.
Not long, my dad called me from downstairs saying I have visitors waiting for me outside. So I finally took a good look on what was going on outside and saw a few familiar faces: Zack, Gerard, Mark, Michael, and Carlos.
Ecstatic to see them after a long time. I went downstairs and was like "Oh! Napadito kayo! Ang tagal na, ha?!". I couldn't say it in words but one way to describe it maybe is that I was speechless because I really can't believe that my friends went all the way to my place so that they could hold a mini-reunion-slash-welcome home party for me!
During the mini-reunion, I proposed an idea for all of us in our batch to hold a grand reunion of sorts but every attempt to do so was met with little success. The last one, during Allyson's debut, failed to attract batchmates including me.
But I still haven't gave up on the hope that this reunion would eventually push through. Even if it's been almost seven years after I left Montessori:D

Retro Spective
I told you guys last time about me being able to find the time to organize my old high school pictures in my photo album. Well, there's more to it than that. Yesterday, my mom was the first to initiate organizing all the photos that haven't been placed on photo albums. I was able to see pictures of me when I was younger. Man oh man, were those the years!
Hitting the road down memory lane sure fill me with loads of good memories. I admit that as a child I was a bit bratty, a bit spoiled, a wee bit hyper, and a kina hysterical at times. When I'm happy, I'm happy. When I'm sad, I'm sad. When I wanna laugh so hard, I laugh. When I wanna cry out so loud that the world may know that their being unfair to me, I do. When I wanna be destructive, I'd gladly do that (as a child, I could unlock a padlocked door using a plastic pole combined with loads of childhood adrenalin :P).
Embarassing, yes. But not as embarassing as those pictures of myself doing those "pa-cute cute" faces. I do a "pogi pose", a "happy" pose, and a "smiley" pose, whenever I'm front of the camera. I think that trait is still alive within me, I do get a bit hyper every now and then. I don't think there was ever a picture in my first 10 years of my life since the development of my consciousness that I don't smile like there's no tomorrow.
What's surprising though was that I also observed that I pretty much gained weight, or in short: grew fat, starting at age 10 onwards. It peaked I guess until high school when I reached a hundred and sixty pounds. But between comparing how I looked like when I was in 3rd grade and in 4th grade (take note: one year apart!), I grew from being thin like a skull as shown in a picture of me visiting Barosoain Church in Bulacan for his annual school field trip to an inflated oval-faced chubby boy with glasses visiting the Manila Zoo as part of his 4th grade field trip.
That reminds me, I'll be celebrating 7 years wearing glasses. January 5, 2001 was the time when my mom decided I should finally wear glasses after suffering for almost a year being unable to see things clearly from afar (me reading in the dark ala Jose Rizal right in the middle of a typhoon surge greatly contributed to that). I've already changed eyeglasses for about eight times already. The most number of changes would 2 back in 2001 and the shortest possible tenure "recorded" would be the one I bought in Ilocos last April 2007 until August 2007 (during my course card distribution).
Starting in high school, that was when I slowly faded from the pictures taken for social gathering of my age group and quickly made a niche taking pictures myself. The "unofficial" photographer in my batch, using my trusty "old reliable" Fujifilm Coolpix, TPaS Olympus camera, and not-so-reliable Nikon Finepix throughout my four years in high school.
By the time I got to college, I realized that I cannot be the kind of person that I was in high school. Although I don't find it necessary to drastically change who I am, what should change is how people would wanna perceive of me as a person. In my early childhood, I was the "iyakin", in SJA I was the "goofy-naive-akala nila taga-US siya" type of guy (I don't know if that last one still stuck on those who still view me as such).
Thus, I decided I should loosen up a bit, not feel so isolated from the rest of society (pero di ako emo kailanman, ha?), open-minded more , and take the serious side out of me (unless it's necessary on things that should be taken on a lighter note. Maturity comes with age, and I guess that I'm already in that process of being one myself.
Learning things from your past experiences make us appreciate life more. From the bridges that we burned down there wil arose new ones being built while wounds inflicted from hurt may have healed, a scar will serve as a reminder of what it used to be, a scar.
I guess, all I want to say is that life is mysterious. Family, friends, events, tragedies....all of them shapes a person into who he or she is. Looking back, I can't help but remember that the things that made me smile, cry, embarass, sad, feel humilated, and all those other stuff made me a better person if not the best. I know that there's stil a long road for me. Nevertheless, I'm ready to face it as I exit memory lane in order face a brand new day.
Thanks!
Montessorian≤Thomasian≥Jamer (It's A Small World After All)
Kagabi, nagYM sakin si Ellemaj. She asked me if I know a certain 'Kat Rigodon' and I said "yes". No, make that "Si 'Payat'? Oo!".
That could only mean that Jamelle Santos (Ellemaj's real name), who also happens to be an USTe girl, is classmates with Payat! Hehehe! Then again, Jamelle's not the only Montessorian in UST. There's Michael, Cheenee and her kuya, Raphael and at the same time, a lot of Jamers like Katrina who are attending in this royal and pontifical university. It cannot be help if destiny brings these two groups together, konektado sa kanilang pagkakilanlan sa akin.
Next thing I know, I'm making friends from the people of Notre Dame....Oh, wait! I did! I have friends from Notre Dame who knows Felipe and Kenneth! :P

Pictures from the Days of Our Lives
I decided to clean up my room a bit after seeing what a mess it was. I was also planning on throwing out some old things I had since the time I came home from abroad 6 and a half years ago. Unfortunately, the things to throw out accumulated throughout that time and has proven to be a very difficult task to do. I have to dispose my broke 6 and a half year old Bombay drawer among other things.
But at the same time, I took this as a perfect opportunity to organizing my old high school photos and placed inside an album given to me by mom about 2 years ago (left untouched until now).
I then began to dig through my old stuff too look for those photos. I was able to found most of them but unfortunately, I can't seem to recover some of those taken during my 1st and 3rd years in high school (Banahaw field trip and Biak-na-Bato trip respectively) as well as some Intramurals pics taken way back when I was in grade 6.
So far I have these photos taken during my year in Saint James:
Grade Six: Intrams pics including the one with Maviel in it, the one with Rob and Ms Zamora in it (uhm, make that two), and the assembly of pre-school kindergarteners gathering outside at the school grounds. Add to it is a photo of me, my siblings and my cousins just before we march on to my late grandmother's wake at Concepcion, Malabon.
1st Year: Pics taken during Intrams, including a 13-year old version of me: fat, chubby, and unphotogenic. This was when I gained notoriety of taking a lot of pictures on events like these.
2nd Year: This one was no different. Pics taken during that year's Intramurals. They include the vain pictures of Maan, Onang's critically-acclaimed artwork, and the popular freign exchange Louie Beltran boy, Raymund Anderson.
3rd Year: Besides the usual Intrams pics was the Araw ng Wika celebrations, which covers the contest wherein sections of all levels decorated their respective classrooms with the best depiction of any Philippine province assigned to them (ours was Pampanga's Best). Oh yeah, that happened to be my birthday, the worst of my then 15-years of exsiting in this world. Condoling picture: the one taken from you-know-who. :D Best intrams pic would be the "magpinsan" photo taken from me and Louie! Yey!
4th: Grad pics. It was during this time that I switched from my Olympus TPS (traditional point-and-shoot) camera to a Fujifilm Finepix digicam and later, a Nikon Coolpix L2. I'm planning on printing some of my digital shots since those taken using a digicam could get lost easily. At least a photo lasts a lifetime (by way of negatives).

Takipsilim Hoax Theory Proven to be True
I joined this group called "Twilight Fans Against Takipsilim" which was created in protest to the alleged remake of the popular Twilight saga which spawned a movie version based on the first novel, "Twilight". Before ABS-CBN News Online made an official statement about why them pulling out their article from their websites saying that the network acquired the rights to make a local television adaptation based on the novel series. Here's my conversation with the group's moderator on Facebook.

Have we been had? ABS-CBN seemed to have pulled out the article on their news website.
Theories:
Hackers got into their website and pulled-off an elaborate prank.
Strong opposition from Twilight fans scared them off (I rather like this one).
What do you think?

My theory: Someone started this hoax as an online joke gone wrong. Somehow, a writer from Yehey.com saw the joke as real (basta lahat ng chismis, totoo daw para sa mga entertainment writer ng Pinas), and had it posted on their website. That article of his was read by members of the websphere and ignited mass hysteria to fans and non-fans of twilight alike. News reached the ears Popular websites like PerezHilton.com and RyanSeacrest and reposted it on their webpages, making people to really believe that it is in fact true.
Somehow, a writer for ABS CBN News Online may have had read the article and had it published online without hesitation.
But that writer may have also realized that it may not have been true after al and had it pulled out from their website.
The good for nothing writer of Yehey, who didn't even verified the news when it first broke out if it was true or not, tried to clean up his mess by stating in a follow up article that none of the alleged cast members even knew that there was a twilight remake and that cory vidanes, a top honcho of ABS declared that the network is not remaking twilight at all. nagmamalinis para ipamukha na hindi siya part ng pagkakalat ng hoax.
The hoax has already gone haywire, making PEP to believe it as true, but no major article with regards to the false remake was published except on a sidenote in one article stating that Rayver was supposed to be in a TV5 show but didn't continue because "he was cast in a remake of twilight".

The people concerned should take responsibility and apologize for such irresponsible journalism. Major loss of credibility for the ABS-CBN online news site - what kind of news website posts a news article based on rumors? Tayo naman, seeing it written in what was supposed to be a credible news website believed them.
We, the fans are blameless victims here. Our reaction is an "overreaction" only in the context of the news being a hoax - which until ABS-CBN's recent denial, was real, credible news to us.
ABS-CBN, how very disappointing.
