I joined this group called "Twilight Fans Against Takipsilim" which was created in protest to the alleged remake of the popular Twilight saga which spawned a movie version based on the first novel, "Twilight". Before ABS-CBN News Online made an official statement about why them pulling out their article from their websites saying that the network acquired the rights to make a local television adaptation based on the novel series. Here's my conversation with the group's moderator on Facebook.

Have we been had? ABS-CBN seemed to have pulled out the article on their news website.
Theories:
Hackers got into their website and pulled-off an elaborate prank.
Strong opposition from Twilight fans scared them off (I rather like this one).
What do you think?

My theory: Someone started this hoax as an online joke gone wrong. Somehow, a writer from Yehey.com saw the joke as real (basta lahat ng chismis, totoo daw para sa mga entertainment writer ng Pinas), and had it posted on their website. That article of his was read by members of the websphere and ignited mass hysteria to fans and non-fans of twilight alike. News reached the ears Popular websites like PerezHilton.com and RyanSeacrest and reposted it on their webpages, making people to really believe that it is in fact true.
Somehow, a writer for ABS CBN News Online may have had read the article and had it published online without hesitation.
But that writer may have also realized that it may not have been true after al and had it pulled out from their website.
The good for nothing writer of Yehey, who didn't even verified the news when it first broke out if it was true or not, tried to clean up his mess by stating in a follow up article that none of the alleged cast members even knew that there was a twilight remake and that cory vidanes, a top honcho of ABS declared that the network is not remaking twilight at all. nagmamalinis para ipamukha na hindi siya part ng pagkakalat ng hoax.
The hoax has already gone haywire, making PEP to believe it as true, but no major article with regards to the false remake was published except on a sidenote in one article stating that Rayver was supposed to be in a TV5 show but didn't continue because "he was cast in a remake of twilight".

The people concerned should take responsibility and apologize for such irresponsible journalism. Major loss of credibility for the ABS-CBN online news site - what kind of news website posts a news article based on rumors? Tayo naman, seeing it written in what was supposed to be a credible news website believed them.
We, the fans are blameless victims here. Our reaction is an "overreaction" only in the context of the news being a hoax - which until ABS-CBN's recent denial, was real, credible news to us.
ABS-CBN, how very disappointing.
