Ang Malas sa Payong

Kahit umulan man o umaraw
Payong ko'y iyong maaasahan
Di ka na mababasa nang ulan
Di ka na mababasa nang ulan

Kahit ang bagyo ay kakayanin
Huwag kang lalayo sa akin
Di ka na mababasa nang ulan
Di ka na mababasa nang ulan

Di na, di na, hinde, hinde, hinde
Mababasa nang ulan
Di na, di na, hinde, hinde, hinde

The third in a series of "frustrated blogs" I've been doing since yesterday. This one's about my thing with umbrellas...

Ellah...ellah...eh..eh...

I think I have some sort of curse when it comes to umbrellas...I don't know. Misfortune, yes, but too much of it? Weird...

Lately I've been noticing a pattern whenever I bring an umbrella when going to school and whenever I don't bring one. On days that I do bring an umbrella, there's no rain showering over the city, or at least when I'm out commuting. That even if I know that the weather on those days would show signs of heavy rain due to the formation of cumulo-nimbus clouds, you know, "makulimlim na kalangitan"?

However, on days when I don't bring an umbrella because of promising looking skies, most often I've been deceived by such looks. I ended up getting wet and....getting wet. Yes.

Just last Saturday, I started my day deciding whether or not should I bring an umbrella. I brought one the day before but not a single drop of rain fell. I ended up not bringing one. I left Valenzuela with skies clear as blue. By day's end, it rained and upon leaving the LRT, I could see the sky as dark as some thug's dark underarm. None of the my fellow commuters dared to go outside in Avenida Rizal and wait til the traffic signs goes red. I took the risk, went out and just as the red light turned on (on the vehicles' side at least), i walked across in front of Victory Central Mall really fast.

Come with the misfortune of not having an umbrella is the misfortune of not having to wear shoes and instead wear sandals which I've been wearing for the past week. I had my shoes washed because a household lizard pooped on one of them.I was already running along Samson Road en route to the jeepney terminal in McArthur Highway when i slipped somewhere in front of Mang Inasal restaurant, almost fell to the ground, my big toe on my right foot got wounded and there's blood coming out from the wound.I hurriedly ran for dry land somewhere along the facade of a seemingly unused yet rented Ever Gotesco Grand Central building before going out again in the rain.

The moment I came home in Valenzuela, the rain there had since stopped and thank goodness it did because I don't know what to do. I don't even want to take a tricycle ride because I wanna save money.

I hate myself right now. Just today I brought, once again, an umbrella to school and it didn't rain, or at least it didn't rain while I was commuting earlier to and from school. Grrr.....!!
