I'm having a difficult time right now especially in Comgrap. Compared with Desprin, Colrend and Frehand, Comgrap is the only hands-on subject for which my homework has to be made right at school and not from home. Comgrap requires its students to use Adobe Photoshop (preferably in its latest edition, CS3). Unfortunately that's bad news for me.
You see, I'm in a disadvantage here. I don't have a Photoshop program installed in my laptop nor to our family PC at home. Asking my parents to buy the program proved to be a futile effort; my dad said I should buy a pirated version instead while my mom nows that I need it sooner or later (thus having my own laptop) but she's quite mum about it so I don't what to expect.
Other than that, I have to go to school on days where I'm supposed to have no class at all, which equaled to expenses on travel and food (instead of saving up my weekly allowance just for the sake of it). An added difficulty is the availability of freeslotted computer laboratories equipped with CS3 since most of them are used at different days at different times for class purposes. Those left would either have an old version of Photoshop or the computers are just too dang slow.
So the only solutions for my dilemma is probably: 1)Go to school 2 hours earlier before class at 11:30 am on Mondays and Fridays and 2) Go to school on my free days and leave as soon as I'm done.
Another frustration would probably be Frehand. I know my prof there is all nice and alright, I don't really have a problem with him, it's just that it's me who's the problem. I'm angry at myself because I couldn't get all the drawing stuff right. I love drawing but learning the basics and disciplines (shading, perspective drawing, etc.) proved to be way, way difficult.
I should be challenged instead of be angry. I should exert more effort on practicing drawing, utilize my HB, 2B and 6B a lot (I'm yet to buy more of 'em), and less on lazying around and being a bum at home (first time I ever used the word "bum").
So I should go with my favorite quote of the day, "Believe in yourself and create your own destiny. Don't fear failure".
Maski "ipis kinatatakutan ko" hahaha!
james, just borrow a photoshop cd from a friend. and then install it in your computer.cheap and hassle-free.
ReplyDeleteOriginal Adobe Creative Suite would cost you an arm and leg. Seriously, they are actually for graphic artists by profession and art/media houses.
